Rumors about Tom Brady unretiring again are resurfacing as Las Vegas Raiders quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo is still injured and may not play next season. This comes after Brady was announced as a possible minority owner of the Las Vegas-based team.

Garoppolo signed with the team last March, but his injured left foot meant he technically failed his physical. Still, the Raiders gave him an injury waiver anyway and still signed him.

However, CBS Sports pointed out that with him still being injured, there is no guarantee that Garoppolo will be able to play during the 2023 season. There is also an addendum in his contract that the Raiders would be able to cut him at no cost if he ever fails to pass his physical.

Should the quarterback pass, though, he would still have to play at least one game without re-injuring his foot to get the rest of his $22.5 million salary to be guaranteed. This led to him getting surgery last March, though there is no guarantee he would be able to play for the Raiders... and then Tom Brady became a minority owner, which sparked rumors of the legendary QB's unretirement.

Tom Brady's Salary as a Player and Owner Could Be an Issue for the Las Vegas Raiders

With Tom Brady about to become a minority owner of the Raiders - pending NFL approval, of course - it might cause a few problems, not just for the team but also for the league itself.

Yahoo! Sports pointed out that while Brady becoming not just an "owner" but also a "player" would be great for the NFL from a business standpoint, a few problems might arise, as it would be problematic for an owner who has full access to meetings, practices, playbooks, strategies, etc. become an official member of the roster.

As both player and owner, Brady might also take the minimum salary in order to make his team's cap and still get more money through his ownership agreement. This would allow the Las Vegas Raiders to circumvent the team cap and create an unfair advantage for his team, causing problems for the league.

This possibility might also lead to other teams objecting to Brady playing for the Raiders should his ownership acquisition be approved. There is a rule that all 32 owners would have to agree to let Tom Brady play for the team he co-owns, and that would be tough given the advantage of him playing would be giving the Raiders, making it highly possible for other owners to vote no.

She recently talked about these dating rumors in an interview, saying, "I think, at this point, unfortunately, because I'm divorced, I'm sure that they're going to try to attach me to anything."
