NBA commissioner Adam Silver has revealed that a decision regarding disciplinary action against Memphis Grizzlies guard Ja Morant has been reached. However, the outcome announcement will be postponed until after the conclusion of the NBA Finals, per ESPN.

Morant had been suspended by the Grizzlies on May 14 following the emergence of a video on social media showing the All-Star player brandishing a gun. The team took this step pending a review by the league.

Notably, Morant had faced a similar incident in March, leading to a meeting with Silver and other NBA executives in New York. The league subsequently imposed an eight-game suspension on the player.

During his customary press conference ahead of the NBA Finals, Commissioner Silver addressed the issue, highlighting the factors to determine the appropriate punishment for Morant. These factors include the player's prior acts and personal history.

Silver acknowledged that additional information had come to light since the initial discussion surrounding the situation.

However, he emphasized that it would be unfair to the players and teams involved in the Finals to disclose the investigation's results at this time.

Given that the league is currently in the offseason, Morant remains indefinitely suspended by the Memphis Grizzlies, and Silver noted that no changes would occur in the following weeks regardless.

As a result, it was deemed more appropriate to postpone any public announcement for now and to reveal the outcome instead shortly after the conclusion of the NBA Finals.

Following an incident during an Instagram Live video in May, the Memphis Grizzlies have taken action by banning Ja Morant, their star guard, from all off-season team activities, Bleacher Report noted.

This comes in the wake of a previous suspension handed down by the NBA in March when Morant was captured on camera brandishing a weapon during an Instagram Live broadcast at a Denver club.

After the initial suspension, Morant took steps to address the issue by seeking assistance from a stress management counseling program in Florida. As part of his return to the court process, he also met with NBA Commissioner Adam Silver at the league's headquarters in New York.

Given the recurrence of such incidents, Morant is anticipated to face more severe consequences this time. In response to his actions, the 23-year-old apologized last month, acknowledging the disappointment he has caused among those who have supported him.

"I am aware that I have let down many people who have shown me support," Morant expressed. "This is a journey, and I understand that more work must be done. While my words may not hold much weight now, I fully accept responsibility for my actions. I am committed to continuing to work on myself."

Ja Morant, known for his exceptional performance on the court, has recently concluded another impressive regular season, Fast Break reported.

He displayed remarkable shooting accuracy, recording a field goal percentage of 46.6%. Moreover, Morant's all-around contributions were notable: he averaged 26.2 points, 5.9 rebounds, 8.1 assists, and 1.1 steals per game.

The Memphis Grizzlies achieved a commendable record of 51-31, securing the second seed in the highly competitive Western Conference for the second consecutive year.

However, their playoff journey was cut short as they faced a formidable opponent in the Los Angeles Lakers, resulting in a six-game defeat in the playoffs' opening round.

Since the end of the playoffs, Morant has maintained a relatively low profile on social media. However, this month, he shared a series of photographs on Instagram that sparked concerns and prompted officials to conduct a health assessment.
