Donald Trump arrived in Miami Tuesday afternoon for his scheduled court appearance on his federal indictment as part of the investigations of his mishandling of classified documents, which included US military and nuclear secrets.

The former president is currently facing 34 felony charges relating to his illegally hiding these classified documents and refusing to give them back to the government. Trump has insisted he did not do anything wrong, though the Justice Department has uncovered evidence that he knowingly hid these classified documents from being returned.

Legal analysts have pointed out that the Trump classified documents case has some big national implications, as Justice Department prosecutors say that the ex-POTUS's actions jeopardized national security, as he kept these documents in areas that were not really secure.

The Associated Press reported that Donald Trump arrived in Miami via his private jet at around 3:00 pm on Monday. He is expected to meet with advisers and lawyers ahead of his court appearance.

So far, he has been firing up his supporters, stoking fears that he may cause violence as he did on January 6. He has so far encouraged his supporters to protest his indictment at the courthouse in Miami.

"We need strength in our country now," said the ex-POTUS during an interview with longtime friend and adviser Roger Stone, who had also previously been convicted of federal crimes. "And they have to go out and they have to protest peacefully. They have to go out."

Trump added, "Look, our country has to protest. We have plenty to protest. We've lost everything," before insisting that he would never drop out of the 2024 race. He is currently the frontrunner in the Republican primaries, ahead of Florida Governor Ron DeSantis.

Donald Trump Aide Also Charged in Classified Documents Case

Another man has also been charged in connection to the Donald Trump classified documents case, and that is US Navy veteran and Trump aide Walt Nauta, who helped Trump move the classified documents from the White House to Mar-a-Lago, Florida.

According to the BBC, he faces up to 90 years in prison as he faces six criminal charges, including conspiracy to obstruct justice, withholding records, concealing documents, scheming to conceal facts from investigators, and making false or misleading statements.

Nauta was seen on surveillance footage removing boxes from the storage room before an imminent search of the Trump-owned resort. After the search, he was seen moving these documents back to where they were previously. It was also alleged that he lied to the FBI in 2022 when he told investigators he did not know where the boxes of classified documents were.

Donald Trump Allies Try Defending Ex-POTUS

Meanwhile, MAGA Republicans are appearing on news shows in an attempt to either defend the president or shift the blame. This includes Rep. Jim Jordan of Ohio, who Rolling Stone reports contradicted Trump as he tried to defend him.

He stated that he did not believe that Trump admitted on tape that he did not declassify the documents despite the evidence saying otherwise. Jordan then claimed that the Constitution stated that Trump can declassify documents so he can put them wherever he wants. However, when CNN host Dana Bash pointed out that Trump admitted to not declassifying them, Jordan chose to contradict the president's own words and claimed that "he has said time and time again he's declassified all this material."

Meanwhile, Senator Lindsey Graham also tried his hand at defending his ally, saying that Trump did not commit espionage and claimed that he is now stronger politically because of the charges. However, during that interview, it was pointed out that the senator refused to acknowledge evidence that showed Trump willfully broke the law by hiding the documents.
