Minnesota Kid Killed in Lake Boating Accident
According to the Otter Tail County Sheriff's Office, a 13-year-old Minnesota kid named Benjamin Rennie from the Andover/Coon Rapids area died on a lake boating accident during an event organized by North Central Camp Cherith, according to KSTP.
The incident occurred on Lake Six, approximately 10 miles south of Detroit Lakes.
Reports state that Rennie and another child were riding on an inner tube pulled by a Camp Cherith employee when they fell off. Unfortunately, the boat accidentally hit Rennie as the camp employees attempted to pick them up.
Despite the staff members' immediate response and efforts to provide emergency aid, Rennie did not survive and passed away.

The Minnesota Kid Was Attending a Christian Summer Camp
The Minnesota kid was hit by a boat propeller around 4:15 pm Thursday on Lake Six, roughly five miles southwest of Frazee, while attending a Christian summer camp, according to Otter Tail County Sheriff, Valley News noted.
Camp Cherith's Executive Director, Kendra Mohn, expressed deep sorrow, acknowledging the camper's passing and the efforts made by staff members and emergency responders to provide life-saving care.
Unfortunately, their efforts were not successful. Mohn requested prayers for the camper's family and everyone affected by this tragic accident.
Sheriff's officials have stated that no criminal charges are expected, and there is no suspicion of foul play or alcohol involvement.
The Otter Tail County Sheriff's Office and other emergency responders assisted in the incident, and an ongoing investigation is underway.
Boating activities, including fishing and waterskiing, are listed on the Camp Cherith website as part of their summer camp program.
The camp had specific sessions for boys and girls, with future camps planned throughout the summer.
Teen With Autism Who Vanished From a Christian Summer Camp Found Dead
Stories of kids dying during a summer camp are not rare.
Last month, a Georgia teen with autism was found dead after vanishing while on a summer camp on Memorial Day, according to Glynn County Sheriff's Office, per The Telegraph.
Connor Mathis was last seen at Camp Jekyll on Jekyll Island on May 29. Authorities have asked residents in the area to check around their homes for any signs of the missing teen, according to the Georgia State Patrol and Glynn County Sheriff's Office.
They mentioned that Mathis might be afraid or confused and could be seeking shelter.
The sheriff's office has indicated that more information will be released during a debrief at the Jekyll Island Golf Club on the afternoon of May 30.
They have expressed gratitude for the significant support from the community and the efforts of local, county, and state officials and agencies involved in the search and rescue operations.
The sheriff's office also extended condolences to Mathis' family and the community members who knew him, expressing their sadness over the loss of this young life.
Mathis was a student at Glynn Academy, according to his parents, who spoke to The Brunswick News. The report described him as a happy child who enjoyed playing basketball with his local team.
The camp he was attending was a community church camp affiliated with the First Baptist Church in Brunswick.
