Mike Pence might be the star witness against Donald Trump and in a recent interview with CNN, he gets honest on whether he will testify or not regarding the former president's 2020 election interferance case that also ties in with January 6..

He recently spoke with CNN's Dana Bash last Sunday on "State of the Union." The former vice president stated that he does not plan to testify but he will comply with the law should he be called to testify against the former president.

"The president's entitled to a presumption of innocence. He's entitled to make his defense in court," Trump's former VP stated in the interview. "But actually there are profound issues around this, pertaining to the First Amendment, freedom of speech, and the rest. I'm confident he and his lawyer will litigate all those things."

Pence was previously compelled to comply with a subpoena by Special Counsel Jack Smith, testifying before a grand jury last April. He is often characterized as the man who helped thwart Donald Trump's plans by going with the constitution and not helping the then-president overturn the results in several key battleground states such as Georgia and Arizona, which were won by Joe Biden.

As for the man he served alongside for four years before, that man set an angry mob chanting "Hang Mike Pence!" against him on January 6, Donald Trump pleaded "not guilty" to four criminal charges which includes conspiracy to defraud the United States.

In addition, the former VP blasted his former running mate, telling CNN that Trump "was wrong then, and he's wrong now" regarding the idea that the vice president has the power to reject the election result while presiding over the Congress vote counting.

Mike Pence Disputes Donald Trump's Claims

Mike Pence also appeared in another interview on Sunday in CBS's "Face the Nation," where he disputed the claims made by members of Trump's legal team who said that the former president only asked him to delay the counting of electoral votes on January 6, 2021. However, Pence told the program, "That's not what happened."

"From sometime in the middle of December, the president began to be told that I had some authority to reject or return votes back to the states," he admitted on air before saying, "I had no such authority."

"From very early on, the very first time the president raised the issue with me, that he was being told that I had the right to overturn the election to reject or return votes, I told him, I knew I had no such authority," said Pence. "I truly do believe that, you know, no one who ever puts himself over the Constitution should ever be President of the United States."

Donald Trump Slams Mike Pence on Truth Social

It did not take long for Donald Trump to publicly attack Mike Pence after those TV appearances as he immediately took to Truth Social to slam the man who served as his vice president.

The former president also denied telling his vice president "to put me above the Constitution, or that Mike was 'too honest.'" According to Politico, Trump also called Pence "delusional."
