Josh Duggar Child Pornography Scandal: Judge Upholds Reality Show Star's Conviction
"19 Kids and Counting" star Josh Duggar's appeal to reverse his conviction for downloading child sexual abuse images was upheld by a federal appeals court on Monday. The eldest Duggar son argued that a lower court judge should have suppressed statements he made to investigators when they found those child pornography images
Duggar was convicted back in 2021 and is now serving a 12 1/2-year prison sentence for child pornography and other crimes. The decision to uphold his conviction was made by a three-judge panel of the 8th US Circuit Court of Appeals, according to the Associated Press.
Little Rock police found child sexual abuse material being shared online. The images were traced to a computer owned by Josh Duggar. During the criminal trial, investigators testified that the images they found in the "19 Kids and Counting" star's computer included images of toddlers getting sexually abused. The images were reportedly downloaded in 2019 into a computer at a car dealership owned by Duggar.
Justin Gelfand, who represents the embattled reality show star, stated that they disagreed with the court disagreed with the court's findings and added that they would be evaluating all their options.
'19 Kids and Counting' Star Josh Duggar Blamed Former Employee For Child Pornography Images
One of Josh Duggar's arguments in his appeal was that a former employee who also had a prior sex-offense conviction may be the one who downloaded all those child pornography images, including the photos of a toddler getting sexually abused.

According to the Daily Mail, the court dismissed this argument, pointing out that Duggar's attorneys did not ask the former employee to testify. The judge also ruled that they could not mention the former employee's prior conviction.
Duggar also questioned the qualifications of the analyst who testified that it was his iPhone that connected him to the crime. The appeals court rejected this as well.
Josh Duggar's Many Scandals
For "19 Kids and Counting," the Duggar family flouted their Christian values and preached modesty and purity. However, the family has constantly been criticized for those beliefs when eldest son Josh Duggar was constantly involved in sex scandals.
The show was canceled by TLC in 2015 after Josh Duggar was accused of molesting four of his sisters and a babysitter while they were still younger. Duggar has confessed that he did do these things and apologized for his wrongdoings through a video posted on social media.
The eldest Duggar sibling also admitted to cheating on his wife, Anna, whose romance and subsequent marriage with her was frequently featured on the show, per US Weekly.
After it came out that he cheated on his wife, Josh was also sued by a porn star named Danica Dillon in 2015. She alleged that he paid to have sex with her but then the reality star would also assault her and cause her physical and emotional injuries. Duggar denied this ever happened and she dismissed her lawsuit in January 2016.
That is not all though, as Josh Duggar has also been sued over real estate before finally getting arrested and convicted of child pornography.
