Georgia officials are closing in on former President Donald Trump as Fulton County DA Fani Willis may have obtained evidence tying him to a voting system breach. She is expected to announce charges against the ex-POTUS soon.

A source with knowledge of the situation has told CNN that Fulton County prosecutors, whose jurisdiction includes Atlanta, Georgia, are now "in possession of text messages and emails directly connecting members of Donald Trump's legal team to the early January 2021 voting system breach in Coffee County."

The source added that individuals involved in that voting system breach may also face charges. Willis and her tea, are expected to seek charges against a dozen individuals when the Fulton County DA's Office presents its case before a grand jury next week.

Prosecutors are reportedly suspicious if the breach in the rural and heavily Republican Coffee County was organic. While the county was heavily Republican and Trump was expected to win in that county, as he did when he won 70% of the vote there, allegedly, there is evidence that his legal team had access to sensitive voting software in that area.

After the voting was done, Trump's allies reportedly tried to access the voting system as part of their larger push to try and get evidence that could back up Donald Trump's claims that the elections were stolen. These claims have been proven false multiple times in the court of law.

Willis, whose investigation is different from Special Counsel Jack Smith's broader election interference investigation, is also taking a look at the ex-POTUS's "perfect phone call" to Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger and Georgia Governor Brian Kemp, trying to persuade them to give Trump more votes to win the state.

Former Georgia Lieutenant Governor, Journalist Summoned To Testify About Election Breach

Fani Willis has been calling witnesses left and right to testify as well, with the latest being former Georgia Republican lieutenant governor Geoff Duncan and journalist George Chidi. They are expected to testify before the Georgia grand jury and talk about Donald Trump's alleged efforts to overturn the 2020 presidential elections.

Former Lt. Gov. Duncan has confirmed the summons, saying, "I can confirm that I have been requested to testify before the Fulton County grand jury on Tuesday. I look forward to answering their questions around the 2020 election." He then added, "Republicans should never let honesty be mistaken for weakness."

According to The Guardian, Chidi also confirmed that he was summoned, stating on social media, "I've just received a call from district attorney Fani Willis's office. I have been asked to come to court Tuesday for testimony before the grand jury."

Top Georgia Election Official Warned That Donald Trump Might Cause Violence

Back in December 2020, top Georgia election official Gabriel Sterling stated that he was concerned that violence could break out after the election. Now, that same election official says he is concerned that Trump might be doing the same for 2024.

According to CNBC, Sterling stated that all these criminal cases have been "giving oxygen" to Trump's 2024 presidential campaign. He added that the ex-POTUS might be "making himself a martyr."

He warned that Trump, without evidence, has been saying that Biden might steal the elections again. This time, however, "He's making himself a victim, he's making himself a martyr, and a lot of the American people are coming behind him because they do feel like some of these things are a little bit of a stretch."
