Mexico City officials have now opened an investigation into claims made by Spanish singer Miguel Bose that he and his two children were attacked by 10 armed men inside their Mexico City home.

"Dear friends, on Friday night a commando of 10 armed subjects broke into my home, assaulted us, tied my children, the house staff, and myself for more than two hours," claimed the "Si Tú No Vuelves" singer on his social media account. He added that the armed men, who were wearing hoods, took "everything."

Billboard also reported that Miguel Bose described the evening attack at his Mexico City home as "very studied and militaristic." However, he added that he, his house staff, and his two children are fine and stated that his kids "behaved like two brave men." He also described the whole experience as "very tense, tricky, and unpleasant."

It is still unclear whether he has already reported the attack to authorities, but the Mexico City Attorney General's Office soon released a statement and revealed that they have already opened an investigation into the "possible robbery at the home of a foreign singer."

The agency then stated that "neither the victim and/or his legal representative, nor the administration of the residential complex where the events occurred have appeared before this Prosecutor's Office to denounce the crime." However, Miguel Bose was invited to file a formal complaint regarding the attack.

Miguel Bose Says He Is Not Thinking of Leaving Mexico After the Attack

Miguel Bose has been living in one of Mexico City's most exclusive areas since 2018 and has been calling the country home. He previously lived in Panama before moving to Mexico.

Despite the attack, however, the Associated Press reported that he does not plan to leave the country just because several armed men invaded his home, which is located in a gated community and considered one of Mexico City's most exclusive areas.

"I am very sorry to disappoint you, here I am and here I will stay to face whatever it takes, in the most hospitable country on the planet. We go on," he wrote on social media. He also asked his followers to listen to his version and not to pay attention to rumors.

After he came forward that he was attacked, he received a wave of support from fans and friends in the industry, including Mexican singers Carlos Rivera and Ximena Sariñana. He also received some love from Italian singer Laura Pausini and Colombian star Carlos Vives.

Mexico City Police Locate Miguel Bose's Stolen SUV

Following the attack, Mexico City police managed to recover the Spanish singer's vehicle on Monday. The vehicle was reportedly recovered several miles away from Miguel Bose's home.

Authorities are now trying to look for the attackers and are analyzing video footage near his home in Rancho San Francisco, according to Rolling Stone.

However, Rancho San Francisco Mayor Lia Limon admitted that she was surprised that such an attack took place in her jurisdiction, emphasizing that the gated community has "so much security."
