The Los Angeles Police Department is investigating an incident involving rapper 50 Cent, whose real name is Curtis Jackson, in connection with a microphone being thrown during a performance at the Crypto.com Arena on Wednesday evening. The incident reportedly may have caused injury to a woman in the audience.

Scott Leemon, the legal representative for 50 Cent, confirmed his communication with the Los Angeles Police to NBC News.

In a statement, Leemon emphasized that the rapper would never intentionally harm anyone. He stated that those presenting a contrary narrative lack a comprehensive understanding of the situation.

The episode unfolded when 50 Cent invited fellow rapper YG, Keenon Dequan Ray Jackson, to join him onstage.

Video footage captured the Grammy winner walking to the side of the stage and seemingly attempting to hand over his microphone.

Subsequently, he is seen discarding the microphone off the stage. In a separate clip, 50 Cent is observed with another microphone; however, upon realizing its malfunction, he forcefully tosses it offstage, according to TODAY.

A media spokesperson from the LAPD clarified that their police units did not respond to the venue on Wednesday night. The department has not issued an official statement on the matter and is unable to provide a police report about the incident.

The Fan 50 Cent Hits With Mic Is a Power 106 Radio Host

Bryhana Monegain, radio host at Power 106, has been identified as the woman who was struck during the incident.

She took immediate action by filing a police report on Wednesday night. Law enforcement sources have shared that they suspect rapper 50 Cent, whose real name is Curtis Jackson, threw the microphone toward his production crew area and accidentally hit the victim.

According to the victim's account given to the police, she asserts that 50 Cent made direct eye contact before tossing the microphone, implying that he was aware of her presence.

As a result of the impact, Bryhana sustained a laceration on her head and was subsequently taken to the hospital for medical attention.

While sources on-site at the event disclosed to TMZ that 50 Cent's intent was not to target the woman, she was struck by the microphone.

A representative connected to 50 Cent revealed that the woman was not authorized to be in the restricted area where the incident occurred.

Disturbing images of the victim circulated on Instagram, displaying a visible forehead injury and blood-soaked towels wrapped around her neck.

Controversies Started to Surround Concerts

Following a recent incident involving rapper 50 Cent throwing a microphone during a performance, a trend of onstage mic-throwing is surfacing, reminiscent of similar actions by other artists.

Cardi B notably engaged in a brief legal dispute after she hurled a microphone into the crowd, per Variety.

This incident happened when she responded to a fan throwing a drink at her, inadvertently hitting another nearby.

The affected person subsequently filed a police report. Still, Cardi B was ultimately cleared of potential battery charges in the ensuing days.

Interestingly, the tables have turned in the past, with concert attendees deliberately targeting artists on stage.

This summer, Bebe Rexha faced a near-knockout situation when a fan threw a cell phone at her head in New York.

Likewise, Harry Styles was struck by an unidentified object in Vienna. At the same time, Latto encountered a similar projectile in Germany and responded with a stern warning.
