Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce's Potential Romance Is Angering MAGA Conservatives But Singer Remains Unbothered
As Taylor Swift continues her rumored romance with all-star Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, MAGA conservatives have been raging. However, Taytay does not seem bothered at all as the singer was seen cheering him on alongside other celebrities during his game against the New York Jets.
Conservatives have been raging as Taylor Swift's popularity continues to rise, with many on the right calling her "woke" and trying to find ways to make her look less popular. This is evident as right-wing media such as Fox News and various other podcasts have been blasting her since the Travis Kelce dating rumors began.
Many on the right have been politicizing the relationship, including Fox News commentator Tomi Lahren who called the rumored couple "a match made in liberal heaven." Meanwhile, many rightwing podcasts and radio shows have been blasting Kelce, who has not shown any political affiliation, as "woke" for reportedly dating Swift and appearing in a Bud Light commercial.
As Slate pointed out, rightwing pundits are now spreading "bizarro false equivalencies" regarding the rumored couple. This includes equating Swift's call to vote as a call to become "Democrats" and Kelce helping spread liberal agenda as the rumored couple find themselves caught in the right's "culture war" agenda.
Her rightwing critics are trying to find even the slightest mishap to attack her, including criticizing her for shouting "Let's F***ing Go!" during the Chiefs' game against the Chicago Bears. Her cheer, which was widely used by other NFL fans, was criticized lengthily on Fox News.
Sean Hannity Had To Defend Taylor Swift Vs. Critics
The attacks on Swift, which often stem from the lightest infractions, have gotten so absurd that Fox News's own Sean Hannity had to be the adult in the room and defend her, according to MSNBC.
"You know what, I look at Taylor Swift, if I picked my music based on their politics, I'd have five choices. Let's be honest. You know - country, Christian contemporary, which are my favorite - but I admire her talent," Hannity said on Thursday. "She writes all her songs, she does these shows that have like nearly 50 songs, you know, sets in them. More wardrobe changes, she's a great businesswoman, seems like a lovely girl, extraordinarily nice to her fans, and I kind of hate people, you know, hating on her."
Hannity also pointed out that these outrageous attacks may backfire on her critics of the rights as she has millions of fans that she can mobilize against the MAGA movement.
"It's a pop star and an athlete-podcaster. There are more important things to worry about," said the conservative host.
Taylor Swift Seen Cheering for Travis Kelce Again During Game vs. New York Jets
As for Tay-Tay herself, she does not seem to be bothered by the attacks from MAGA conservatives who are bothered by just how popular she is.
In fact, she was seen on public again in New Jersey, cheering for her rumored boyfriend alongside Ryan Reynolds and wife Blake Lively, as well as Wolverine himself, Hugh Jackman. The Grammy winner was seen wearing blue jean shorts, a long-sleeved black top, and a leather jacket.
According to the Associated Press, Swift is currently on a break from her Eras Tour so she is free to go to Kelce's games. She will resume on November 9 with a stop in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
