San Diego Comic-Con 2014 Dates, Schedule, Ticket Prices and Events: Warner Bros. and DC Entertainment Announce 'Gotham,' 'The Flash,' 'Constantine' and 'Arrow' Events
While no final and official details about the upcoming San Diego Comic-Con have been released, early news about a Warner Bros. Television and DC Entertainment sponsored special event have been announced.
The four-day convention will run from July 24-27, and on July 26, attendees will be treated to special releases by both of the major production companies. This will include the world premiere of "Gotham," a full-length screening of "The Flash," exclusive footage of "Constantine" -- a new NBC series -- and a special teaser footage of the upcoming third season of "Arrow." The details about the programs of each day will be released two weeks before the event, according to SDCC's official website.
Badges, which will serve as the pass to Comic-Con, have sold out within an hour and a half after they started selling online, as reported by NBC Los Angeles. Director of marketing and public relations David Glanzer said that the comic book and pop culture event this summer has completely been sold out, capping the expected number of attendees at 130,000 -- including fans, volunteers, organizers and vendors.
To be able to participate in the buying process of Comic-Con badges, prospective attendees were required to have a unique Comic-Con membership ID, meaning that attending the biggest comic book event in the country really requires a lot of time, effort and a whole bunch of planning. Experienced fans will already be familiar with the notoriety of the event badges process and how they sell out very quickly every year. Badge prices range from $30 to $45 per night (including the preview night) with special discounts available to children, seniors and members of the U.S. Military.
The San Diego Comic-Con, founded in 1970, is a comic convention held annually featuring multi-genre entertainment and comics highlighted in different media. It is a four-day event (Thursday to Sunday) with a preview night (Wednesday) that takes place during the summer at the San Diego Convention Center in southern California.
