A wrongful death lawsuit has been filed on behalf of Aaron Carter's two-year-old son, Princeton Lyric Carter, almost one year after the singer's tragic demise in his California home, per the Daily Mail.

The legal action contends that doctors and pharmacies contributed to the singer's death by inappropriately prescribing and dispensing medications that adversely impacted his judgment and mental health.

The lawsuit alleges that medications, including hydrocodone, oxycodone, and alprazolam, were prescribed without a valid medical justification.

It asserts that these medications, when combined with Carter's known mental health history and psychiatric condition, had a detrimental impact on his well-being, ultimately leading to his death.

Notably, the legal action identifies Walgreens, among others, as a defendant in this matter.

Aaron Carter, aged 34, was discovered dead in his Lancaster, California home on November 5, 2022, by his housekeeper.

The cause of death was determined to be drowning, a result of inhaling compressed difluoroethane, commonly known as "huffing," and ingesting alprazolam (Xanax).

According to officials, an autopsy revealed that Aaron Carter became "incapacitated while in the bathtub after he 'slipped under the water' and drowned due to the substances."

Princeton's mother, Melanie Martin, initiated the legal proceedings on behalf of their son.

Aaron Carter's Son's Lawsuit

In the lawsuit, it is contended that doctors and Walgreens should not have prescribed opioids to Carter, given his medical history, according to NME.

It further alleges that the incorrect prescription and dispensing of medications significantly impacted Aaron Carter's judgment and mental health, ultimately contributing to his untimely death.

Up to this point, neither the doctors nor Walgreens have responded to these allegations.

Back in April, Carter's ex-fiancée expressed her dissatisfaction with the autopsy report, claiming that it did not provide her with the closure she sought.

The Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner-Coroner's report confirmed drowning as the primary cause of death, with secondary causes attributed to the effects of alprazolam and inhaling difluoroethane, known as "huffing."

 The manner of Aaron Carter's passing was categorized as accidental.

Martin has expressed her disagreement with the conclusions of the coroner's report.

She contended that the autopsy results did not provide the closure she was seeking, raising doubts about the circumstances surrounding Aaron Carter's tragic demise.

In her statement, Martin questioned the report's assertion that the cause of death was drowning.

She found it puzzling that the report mentioned that Carter was wearing a T-shirt and a necklace while in the bathtub, a detail that appeared incongruous with the circumstances.

She asked, "why would he be in a bathtub with clothes on?"

Expressing her ongoing emotional distress, Martin stated, "I am still in shock and still miss Aaron every day."

Aaron Carter's Addiction

Carter had been candid about his struggles with addiction, acknowledging that his sister, Leslie, who died from an overdose in 2012, introduced him to huffing at the age of 16, Yahoo! Entertainment noted.

He revealed that he had purchased inhalants from stores like Staples and Office Depot to evade detection due to his addiction.

Aaron Carter, the younger brother of Backstreet Boy Nick Carter, gained fame at just nine years old with the release of his self-titled debut album in 1997.

His subsequent album, "Aaron's Party (Come Get It)," achieved considerable success in the U.S., selling over 3 million copies.

The lawsuit seeks unspecified damages in relation to the tragic events leading to Aaron Carter's death.
