The alert highlights a concerning trend where individuals alter their ages and falsely claim to be unaccompanied minors, enhancing their chances of gaining entry.

The internal Border Patrol notice guides agents, detailing what to look for and offering examples of authentic and forged Guinean passports.

Passports issued in Conakry, Guinea's capital, after June 2023 are flagged as "most likely fraudulent or altered."

Furthermore, the alert suggests potential involvement of the Guinean government in the fraud, with indications that officials may be advising individuals to change their ages for a higher likelihood of entering the US as minors.

The deceptive practice mainly involves adults claiming to be unaccompanied children, creating challenges for border enforcement.

The notice also highlights a claim from one migrant about an "illicit group" pilfering blank passport books from the Conakry ministry and illicitly distributing them without following proper procedures.
