The Jeffrey Epstein List Is Now Unsealed, But Documents Are Not What Conspiracy Theorists Are Hoping For
When a judge ordered the "Jeffrey Epstein List" to be unsealed, many thought these documents would include some big names. However, now that they are unsealed, conspiracy theorists may be disappointed as to what they actually hold.
These names were previously redacted and were featured in a lawsuit against Jeffrey Epstein's former lover and accomplice, Ghislaine Maxwell. The release was ordered by US District Judge Loretta Preska back in December and gave the John and Jane Does named there two weeks to appeal whether their names be released.
According to CNBC, many of the over 150 people named in the civil court filings have previously been publicly disclosed already, and they all have a connection to Epstein in one way or another. While the list does include notable names like former presidents Donald Trump and Bill Clinton, as well as Prince Andrew, it also contains names of victims and people who cooperated with police in bringing down the infamous child sex trafficker.
One of the documents unsealed was a deposition of girlfriend Ghislaine Maxwell. She was asked about billionaire Glenn Dubin about whether she instructed the plaintiff, Virginia Gieffre, to have sex with him. However, Maxwell replied: "I have never instructed Virginia to have sex with anybody ever."
What the Jeffrey Epstein List Also Has
While the list features possible Epstein clients, it is not a client list as it also includes "many of Epstein's accusers, members of his staff who told their stories to tabloid newspapers, people who served as witnesses at Maxwell's trial, people who were mentioned in passing during depositions but aren't accused of anything salacious, and people who investigated Epstein." according to the Associated Press.

Jean-Luc Brunel, a French modeling agent close to Epstein, was also named in the list. He was accused of sexual abuse by Virginia Giuffre, so he was named.
As for the two former presidents, they were named in the court file as part of the questioning by Maxwell's attorneys about inaccuracies in newspaper stories about her time with Epstein, asking her newspaper reports about her riding a helicopter with Clinton and flirting with Trump. However, she answered those things did not actually happen, and she did not accuse either of them of wrongdoing.
The list's imminent release did fuel some conspiracy theories that speculated that everyone on the list were all clients of Epstein and that included big-name celebrities. This recently fueled a spat between Aaron Rogers and Jimmy Kimmel when the former accused him of being on the list. The comedian does not seem to be on the list, as Rogers speculated. He may be facing a lawsuit from Kimmel.
Judge Previously Revealed Many on the List Were Previously Identified by the Media Already
When she ordered the list of names be released, New York Judge Loretta Preska stated that many of those named in the lawsuit had already been identified by the media, as well as had already been named during the Ghislaine Maxwell criminal trial.
While she gave the people named on the list time to object, the judge also pointed out that "many others did not raise an objection to the release of the documents."
