The killings of an 18-year-old Texas teen and her boyfriend have shocked many in San Antonio, with a third suspect now being arrested after a father and son duo were taken into custody.

San Antonio police have now arrested 47-year-old Myrta Romanos in connection to the killings of the pregnant Texas teen, Savanah Nicole Soto, and her 22-year-old boyfriend, Matthew Guerra. The two were initially reported missing until their bodies were found inside Guerra's car several days later.

According to the Associated Press, Romanos is the third suspect in the case, and she is facing felony charges that include evidence tampering and destroying or concealing a human corpse. This comes just two weeks after the bodies of the Texas couple were discovered in the parking lot of a San Antonio apartment complex.

Police found gunshot wounds in the bodies of Soto and Guerra, and they were presumed to have been killed elsewhere before Guerra's car and their bodies were left in the parking lot. CCTV footage showed the car being driven to the parking lot by presumably one of the suspects.

Christopher Preciado, 19, and his father, Ramon Preciado, 53, were arrested earlier this month in connection to the killings. The 19-year-old was charged with capital murder, while his father was charged with abusing and helping to destroy or conceal a corpse. No pleas have been entered from either suspect yet.

The case has perplexed police across two jurisdictions as they were initially reported as missing by their families. It was initially theorized that it was Guerra who killed his girlfriend, Soto, as her family accused him of abuse multiple times before. However, the theory soon changed when both of their bodies were found days later.

Soon after the two suspects were arrested, San Antonio police Sgt. Washington Moscoso spoke at a press conference and told reporters that their deaths appeared to be the result of a drug deal. However, he did not elaborate on this theory further as investigations continued.

Sgt. Moscoso also acknowledged that there had been a lot of "misinformation" about the case being posted on social media as it has drawn attention far beyond Texas. He also acknowledged that the suspects may also be facing more charges as the investigation goes on.

While the father, Ramon, did not participate in the killings, he was complicit in trying to get rid of the bodies, according to CBS News. The two suspects were linked to the deaths of the young Texas couple after the US Secret Service helped analyze Soto's phone. They were soon taken in by police, interrogated, and then arrested in connection to the crime.

Media Confronts One of the Suspects in the Killings of Texas Teen and Boyfriend

As police escorted the two suspects in separate vehicles, reporters flocked to them, but the teen son, who police believe is responsible for the killings, did not comment. However, his father did.

Reporters asked Ramon Preciado if he had any remorse for what he did, and the suspect answered, "Aren't you sorry for lying about what you're saying? You don't even know what's going on. You just make stuff up like always."
