Hunter Biden Tax Crimes: Joe Biden's Son Pleads Not Guilty, Facing 17 Years in Prison if Convicted
Hunter Biden has now appeared for his tax crimes charges brought by Special Counsel David Weiss's investigation, and he pleaded "not guilty" to all nine federal charges that the prosecutor has laid out against him.
The trial is slated to begin proceedings on June 20, with Judge Mark Scarsi presiding over the case. It stems from an alleged "four-year scheme" when the presidential son allegedly did not pay his federal income taxes from January 2017 to October 2020 while also filing false tax reports, according to Fox News.
Hunter Biden was charged with three felonies and six misdemeanors, all of which concern roughly $1.4 million in taxes owed to the government, which the Biden son has since paid.
As the indictment showed, the younger Biden is alleged to have "engaged in a four-year scheme to not pay at least $1.4 million in self-assessed federal taxes he owed for tax years 2016 through 2019, from in or about January 2017 through in or about October 15, 2020, and to evade the assessment of taxes for tax year 2018 when he filed false returns in or about February 2020."
Special Counsel Weiss accused the younger Biden of subverting "the payroll and tax withholding process of his own company, Owasco, PC by withdrawing millions" from the company "outside of the payroll and tax withholding process that it was designed to perform" in "furtherance of that scheme."

Florida Rep. Jared Moskowitz Points Out Republican Hypocrisy Over Hunter Biden Case
Meanwhile, as Republicans were shocked when Hunter Biden finally showed up in Congress, Florida Democrat Rep. Jared Moskowitz pointed out the hypocrisy of his GOP colleagues in a scathing presentation.
Republicans were blasting Hunter Biden for not testifying in a closed-door deposition, but the Florida congressman pointed out that the presidential son has always stated that he was willing to testify but in public so the Republicans would not twist his words for their own political gains as what they are doing right now.
"The only folks that are afraid to hear from the witness with the American people watching are my friends on the other side of the aisle," said the Democrat. "Let's take a vote. Who wants to hear from Hunter Biden, right now, today? Anyone? C'mon, who wants to hear from Hunter? No one!"
As the hearing to hold Hunter Biden in contempt of Congress for not complying with his subpoena went on, Moskowitz also presented a list of prominent Republicans who did not comply with subpoenas themselves but got away with it, including Ohio Rep. Jim Jordan, who was one of the people leading the investigation. Jordan was subpoenaed by the January 6 Committee over his alleged involvement in the plot, but like Hunter Biden, he also did not comply. However, unlike Hunter Biden, he never faced consequences.
