Joe Biden is escalating his feud with Texas Governor Greg Abbott over Texas blocking federal agents' access to the US-Mexico border to do their jobs and furthering the US migrant crisis, warning the state government that it will take action should the state continue its blockade.

The Biden administration issued this demand after Texas officials stopped Border Patrol agents from entering a section near the US-Mexico border so they could patrol it and prevent migrants from entering, as it is their jobs, calling the actions by Texas National Guard soldiers as "clearly unconstitutional."

Department of Homeland Security attorney Jonathan Meyer reportedly told Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton in a letter that should the Texas National Guard continue blocking Border Patrol's access to a public park in the border town of Eagle Pass, the matter will be referred to the Department of Justice to explore other options.

Last week, the state government seized control of Shelby Park in Eagle Pass, Texas, along the Rio Grande. State police and the Texas National Guard blocked the public from entering, saying that they were doing this to prevent migrants from entering. However, for some reason, they are also blocking Border Patrol from patrolling the Rio Grande as they have to launch their boats from a dock at the park.

The DHS has since accused Texas of impeding federal operations to apprehend migrants and rescue those who may be in distress. This included the drownings of three migrants, a woman and two children, near Shelby Park as Border Patrol were prevented from coming to their aid by Texas officials.

This also comes as Texas has been accused of human rights violations against migrants, including a bombshell report from a Texas State Trooper that they were ordered to push back tired migrants who had just finished crossing the Rio Grande back into the river, as well as being ordered to not give migrants water despite the scorching Texas heat.

Eagle Pass Mayor Says Texas State Government Closed Park Without Permission

As the US-Mexico border drama in Texas is playing out, the mayor of the city where the Texas state government suddenly took over one of its parks to "stop the US migrant crisis" has recently spoken out and revealed that the state did so without the city's permission.

Eagle Pass Mayor Rolando Salinas questioned why the state closed the 50-acre park, according to the Associated Press, noting that the daily migrant apprehensions in the area have fallen in recent weeks despite Abbott's claims.

"That is not a decision that we agreed to," said the mayor. This is not something that we wanted. This is not something that we asked for as a city."

Texas Blamed for Drownings of 3 Migrants Amid US Migrant Crisis

Rep. Enrique Roberto "Henry" Cuellar, one of Texas's representatives to the US Congress, slammed the Texas state government, saying that the Texas Military Department and Texas National Guard "did not grant access to Border Patrol agents to save the migrants" who drowned in the Rio Grande last Friday night.

"This is a tragedy, and the State bears responsibility," said the Congressman. The drownings were the latest in the escalating tensions between Texas and the federal government amid the US immigration crisis as more and more migrants rush to the US-Mexico border, believing they will live a better life in the US.
