Both teams will now advance to their respective conference finals, with the Detroit Lions taking on the San Francisco 49ers in the NFC, while over at the AFC, the Kansas City Chiefs are defending their Super Bowl title against the Baltimore Ravens next.
The possibility of Eminem's Lions taking on Swift's Chiefs has got social media abuzz as the two music icons' respective favorite teams may indeed meet in the Super Bowl, with memes being generated everywhere that the real fight was between the "Rap God" and the reigning "Queen of Pop."
Eminem famously grew up in Detroit and is one of Mo-Town's most famous celebrities and is a life-long Detroit Lions fan, while Taylor Swift is famously dating Kansas City Chiefs star Travis Kelce, with her every NFL game appearance generating millions for the league.
According to CBS, the "Real Slim Shady" had a special request for Lions head coach Dan Campbell, asking him if he could put the rapper in the game, saying he would report as eligible to avoid any future penalty drama, which was what happened during the Lions's regular season loss to the Dallas Cowboys.
"Yo, Dan, I'm reporting. I'm going to report," said the "White America" rapper. . "Third quarter. I'm reporting, offensive line, eligible receiver. I'll be the quarterback, the entire line, [the] offensive line. And the receiver, I will throw it to myself and score a touchdown. In the third quarter. Just give me a uniform. Buffalo Bills Fans Not Kind to Kansas City Chiefs Quarterback Patrick Mahomes
Despite the cold in Buffalo, it was a heated game between the Buffalo Bills and their constant tormentors, the Kansas City Chiefs, who were being cheered on by the biggest pop star in the world, as well as a now-retired Philadelphia Eagles legend, as Jason Kelce joined Taytay inside the box, and he even took his shirt off when his brother, Travis, scored a touch down despite the sheer Buffalo cold.
The Bills fans were not fond of the Chiefs, who eliminated their team last year. This prompted some fans to pelt star quarterback Patrick Mahomes with some snowballs. He was dodging snowballs after the game as well, but it was the Chiefs who had the final laugh, 27-24 in a close one.
Detroit Lions Make History With Win Vs. Buccaneers During NFL Playoffs
As for the Lions, the blue-collar city showed some blue-collar grit as they outplayed the Bucs 31-23 as they look to win against the 49ers on Sunday next.
According to ESPN, the win against the Bucs was historic as this was the first time the team had advanced to the NFC Championship Game since 1991. They had a slow start, however, thanks to rookie running back Jahmyr Gibbs who led a fourth quarter blitz to seal the win.
