New Hampshire Primary Elections: Joe Biden and Donald Trump Win Handily
In a result that shocked nobody, both President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump won their respective Democratic and Republican Primary Elections in New Hampshire on Tuesday, both winning in landslide victories.
The win of these two leading candidates makes their face-off in this year's general elections even more likely, as Trump defeated his top rival, former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley, with 54.4% of the vote, with Haley getting 43.6%.
As for Biden, he won after voters wrote his name in as his name was not placed on the ballot prior to the New Hampshire primary after New Hampshire defied new party rules by holding its primary before South Carolina's, according to the Associated Press.
"My message to the country is the stakes could not be higher," Biden said, warning what may happen should Trump, who vowed to act like a dictator on the campaign trail, win. "Our Democracy. Our personal freedoms - from the right to choose to the right to vote. Our economy - which has seen the strongest recovery in the world since COVID. All are at stake."
As for Trump, several former opponents were at hand to celebrate his New Hampshire win, including businessman Vivek Ramaswamy, who already endorsed the former president. Other allies, such as Marjorie Taylor Greene, were also present during the Trump victory celebration, as was notable Trump ally and expelled New York Republican Rep. George Santos.
"I am a Trump supporter. There's, like, a lot of surprise to see me here. You're going to see me at a lot more of these," the former congressman told the Associated Press, adding, "I'm just having fun!"

Donald Trump Takes Swipe at Nikki Haley After New Hampshire Win
Donald Trump then started gloating after his win, as Haley actually put up a fight in New Hampshire and was even leading at some polls prior to the actual vote.
"She had a very bad night," the former president told the crowd. "She came in third [in Iowa], and she's still hanging around."
Haley, however, stood defiant despite losing twice now, as she told her supporters in Concord, "New Hampshire is first in the nation. It is not the last in the nation," before adding, "This race is far from over. There are dozens of states left to go, and the next one is my sweet state of South Carolina."
Democrats Write Joe Biden In For New Hampshire Primary Election Victory
For the Democrats, this race was an unusual one as Joe Biden did not even campaign in New Hampshire, and he did not need to as the incumbent president still won the state's primary easily.
This is the first election after the Democratic Party changed its rules to have South Carolina hold the first nominating contest of the year. New Hampshire defied this rule and resulted in Biden not being printed on the ballot but ended up winning anyway.
According to NPR, the win was a result of a grassroots campaign that urged Democrats to write in his name, and a super PAC raised about $1.5 million to back the effort.
