Basketball icon LeBron James has once again etched his name in NBA history, securing his 20th NBA All-Star Game selection, surpassing the legendary Kareem Abdul-Jabbar for the most selections of all time, according to CNN.

This accomplishment comes less than a year after James broke Abdul-Jabbar's all-time scoring record, showcasing his enduring prowess on the court.

As LeBron James enters his 21st NBA season, he continues to defy the challenges of time, maintaining impressive averages of 24.8 points, 7.2 rebounds, and 7.4 assists for the Los Angeles Lakers.

Earlier in the season, he reached another significant milestone, becoming the first player in NBA history to achieve 39,000 career points.

The NBA All-Star Game, scheduled for February 18 at the Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, will witness LeBron James adding another chapter to his storied career as he participates in his 20th All-Star Game appearance.

NBA All-Star Game Starters Revealed

The Western Conference starting five for the NBA All-Star Game includes LeBron James, Denver Nuggets center Nikola Jokic, Phoenix Suns forward Kevin Durant, Dallas Mavericks guard Luka Doncic, and Oklahoma City Thunder guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander.

In the Eastern Conference, Milwaukee Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo leads the starting lineup, accompanied by Philadelphia 76ers center Joel Embiid, Boston Celtics forward Jayson Tatum, Indiana Pacers guard Tyrese Haliburton, and Bucks guard Damian Lillard.

Among the notable selections, Haliburton, representing the host Pacers, secures his second All-Star selection and first start, while Gilgeous-Alexander makes his All-Star Game debut, per ESPN.

Veterans like Kevin Durant secured his 14th selection, followed closely by Giannis Antetokounmpo and Damian Lillard with their eighth appearances.

Joel Embiid joins the prestigious group with his seventh appearance, while Nikola Jokic marks his sixth, and Luka Doncic and Jayson Tatum secure their fifth.

The voting process for the All-Star starters showed little suspense, with consistent results week after week.

Antetokounmpo, Embiid, and Tatum commanded significant leads in the Eastern Conference frontcourt, while Tyrese Haliburton led by a wide margin among East guards.

In the Western Conference, LeBron James, Jokic, and Durant emerged as clear frontrunners in the frontcourt.

Fans, current NBA players, and a media panel collectively determined the starters for the 2024 NBA All-Star Game.

Fans held a 50 percent voting weight, while players and media each contributed 25 percent.

Following the tally of votes, players were ranked by position within each voting group, and their scores were calculated based on the weighted average of their ranks from fan votes, player votes, and media votes.

Stephen Curry Misses All-Star Game Starters, Set to Wait for Reserves Announcement

While LeBron James celebrates his record-setting achievement, Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry faces disappointment as he was not selected as a starter for the Western Conference in the NBA All-Star Game.

Despite ranking second in fan voting, Curry's position was affected by player and media tabulations, Yahoo! Sports noted.

Oklahoma City Thunder guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Dallas Mavericks star Luka Doncic secured the Western Conference backcourt starting positions, leaving Curry out of the starting lineup.

This marks a change from Curry's nine consecutive NBA All-Star Game starts.

Fans had Curry in second place in the voting, but player and media rankings placed him lower.

Curry, a two-time NBA MVP, will now await the announcement of All-Star reserves on February 1.

The only other instance Curry missed the All-Star Game was in the 2019-20 NBA season due to a left-hand injury.
