International reggaeton sensation Karol G's private jet was forced to make an emergency landing at Van Nuys Airport on Thursday night following the pilot's report of smoke in the cockpit.
The Grammy-winning Colombian artist was on board with 16 individuals when the incident occurred, according to ABC7 News.
AIR7 HD captured the dramatic scene as Karol G, born Carolina Giraldo Navarro, exited the plane, embracing friends and associates on the tarmac after the safe landing.
The journey had commenced from Burbank airport, heading east, but complications arose over the Cajon Pass, prompting the pilot to make a swift turnaround.
While the representatives for Karol G did not immediately respond to inquiries, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) released a statement on Friday morning, confirming the emergency landing.
The statement disclosed, "A twin-engine Gulfstream IV landed safely at Van Nuys Airport in California around 9 p.m. local time on Thursday, Feb. 29 after the pilot reported smoke in the cockpit.
The flight departed from Hollywood Burbank Airport and was headed to El Salvador International Airport."
Emergency crews were on standby, and the plane landed smoothly at Van Nuys Airport around 9 p.m. No injuries were reported, providing a sigh of relief for those on board.
