The man known as Donald Trump's Moneyman, former Trump Organization CFO Allen Weisselberg, has now pleaded guilty to perjury. He admitted to lying under oath about Donald Trump's properties, particularly about his knowledge of the size of Donald Trump's apartment triplex. He also admitted to lying under oath about how the value of that apartment was inflated on Trump's financial statements for years.

Allen Weisselberg was charged with five counts of perjury. However, he signed a deal with prosecutors and agreed to plead guilty to two counts of felony. This is regarding the testimony he gave during a 2020 deposition with the New York Attorney General's Office.

In addition, the former Trump Organization CFO also admitted that he falsely testified during Donald Trump's civil fraud trial last fall. However, it was noted that these admissions were not among the charges that he pleaded guilty to.

Because he pleaded guilty to perjury, Allen Weisselberg would not be sentenced for the counts he did not plead guilty to, as agreed upon by the parties involved. This means that even though he pleaded guilty to other counts of perjury at Trump's civil fraud trial over the triplex, he would not be sentenced for that even though it is considered a violation of his parole in connection to his 2022 guilty plea to 15 counts of tax fraud, per CNN.

Judge Laurie Peterson questioned the former Trump Organization CFO during the hearing. Weisselberg confirmed his plea, telling her that he is pleading guilty because he is guilty.

Weisselberg may find himself back in prison for his guilty plea, as prosecutor Gary Fishman says he is not recommending more than five months in prison. He then admitted that prison time was necessary for the former Trump Organization executive as the harm caused by his lying under oath "tears at the very fabric" of the justice system.

According to the Associated Press, prosecutors also cited Weisselberg's age and willingness to admit wrongdoing for recommending a five-month sentence, which is well below the maximum punishment for the crime, which is up to seven years in New York state.

This guilty plea came weeks after Weisselberg was among the many people, including Donald Trump himself, found liable for being part of a scheme to deceive banks, insurers, and others by lying about how rich the former president actually is. They used fraudulent financial statements to secure deals and loans and also to lessen the taxes Trump would have to pay.

He is scheduled to be sentenced on April 10.

Meanwhile, as Trump Organization CFO Allen Weisselberg pleaded guilty to perjury, his boss and good friend, former President Donald Trump, finally had a legal victory in the Supreme Court as it ruled that Trump gets to stay on the ballot in Colorado after the state's Supreme Court ruled he should be disqualified over the 14th Amendment.

The ruling was unanimous, and it made it clear that Congress, not states, has the responsibility to set the rules on the 14th Amendment, according to NBC.
