Kim Kardashian Sued by Donald Judd Foundation for Alleged Fake Table
Donald Judd's foundation is taking legal action against Kim Kardashian for a 2022 YouTube video where she praises what she claims is Donald Judd table, according to Curbed.
The lawsuit alleges that the furniture showcased in the video was produced by Clements Design, not Donald Judd.
This misrepresentation, according to the suit, misled consumers into believing the pieces were authentic Judd creations, violating the foundation's policies and damaging Judd's legacy.
Michael Rhodes, Kardashian's legal representative, stated, "We deny that Ms. Kardashian has any liability in this matter, as we have previously explained to the Judd Foundation and its counsel."

Dispute Escalates Amid Attempts to Resolve Amicably
The Donald Judd Foundation asserts that it made multiple attempts to resolve the matter with Kardashian and Clements Design before resorting to litigation.
Megan Bennigan, a lawyer representing the Judd Foundation, said, "Contrary to what Kim Kardashian's attorney now says, neither he nor other counsel representing Ms. Kardashian explained their position on this matter," she stated.
"Multiple attempts were made by the Judd Foundation and its president, Rainer Judd (Donald's daughter), to address and resolve this matter amicably with Ms. Kardashian prior to litigation, which would have been avoidable had we heard back from either Ms. Kardashian or her counsel," Bennigan added.
However, these efforts were met with delays and excuses, prompting the foundation to take legal action, People reports.
Kardashian's promotion of the furniture as "Donald Judd" to her social media followers further exacerbated the dispute.
Despite offers to update the video caption, the foundation insisted on its removal, expressing concerns about the perpetuation of misleading information.
In response, representatives for Kardashian denied her liability in the matter, stating that attempts were made to explain their position to the Judd Foundation.
Nevertheless, the foundation remained steadfast in its pursuit of protecting Judd's intellectual property rights and the integrity of his designs.
Differing Perspectives on Furniture Authenticity
Clements Design, the company behind the Donal Judd table furniture featured in Kardashian's video, contends that their pieces differ materially from Donald Judd's designs.
They emphasize distinctions in wood type and overall proportions, rejecting claims of imitation, per The New York Times.
However, the Judd Foundation points to evidence suggesting otherwise, including an invoice from Clements Design describing the furniture as "in the style of Donald Judd."
The foundation underscores the importance of maintaining the authenticity of Judd's work, citing the artist's own dedication to preserving his creations during his lifetime.
Rainer Judd, president of the foundation, emphasizes the significance of protecting Donald Judd's legacy, stating that revenue from his designs contributes significantly to the organization's financial stability.
The foundation's lawsuit against Kardashian reflects its commitment to upholding Judd's artistic integrity and ensuring that his work is accurately represented and attributed.
The legal conflict between the Donald Judd Foundation and Kim Kardashian brings attention to the intricacies involved in safeguarding artistic legacies and intellectual property rights in contemporary times.
