A Florida woman, Aimee Harris, was sentenced in Manhattan federal court to a month in prison and three months of home confinement for her involvement in the theft and sale of President Joe Biden's daughter, Ashley Biden's diary, to the conservative group Project Veritas.

The sentencing was conducted by Judge Laura Taylor Swain, who condemned Harris' actions as "despicable." Harris, who pleaded guilty to a conspiracy charge in August 2022, confessed to receiving $20,000 of the $40,000 paid by Project Veritas for personal items belonging to Ashley Biden, as reported by Fox13.

Florida woman Harris, aged 41, admitted to stealing Ashley Biden's personal belongings and selling them to Project Veritas in the final weeks of the 2020 presidential campaign.

Alongside her co-defendant Robert Kurlander, Harris pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy to transport stolen property across state lines.

Court records reveal that Project Veritas purchased the diary and other items left behind by Ashley Biden at a Delray Beach home.

Although the duo initially approached former President Donald Trump's campaign to sell the stolen materials, they were directed to the FBI.

Under the terms of a plea deal, both Harris and Kurlander agreed to return the $20,000 they received from the sale.

Kurlander, who has not yet been sentenced, also pledged to cooperate with the ongoing investigation.

Sentencing and Legal Proceedings

In addition to her prison sentence and home confinement, Florida woman Aimee Harris was sentenced to three years of probation and ordered to repay the money she earned from the sale, according to USA Today.

The judge emphasized the gravity of Harris' actions in interfering with elections and noted the severity of the government's efforts to deter such behavior.

Initially, federal prosecutors recommended six months of home confinement and three years of supervised release for Harris, while her defense requested probation.

However, Harris' sentencing was repeatedly delayed-twelve times-citing childcare issues or illness. Prosecutors accused her of employing tactics to delay proceedings improperly.

Despite her guilty plea, Harris faced additional legal troubles, including a DUI charge and testing positive for marijuana.

Project Veritas and Ongoing Investigation

As part of the investigation, the FBI conducted searches at the residences of three former employees of Project Veritas, including founder James O'Keefe, as noted by The New York Times.

However, no charges have been filed against them thus far.

Project Veritas has faced internal turmoil, with allegations of illegal activity and financial improprieties leading to management changes and employee layoffs.

In December, a federal judge ruled that prosecutors could examine documents related to Ashley Biden's diary theft, dismissing Project Veritas' claims of First Amendment protection.
