NFL Holding 1st Regular Season Game in Brazil With Eagles Vs. Packers, But Both Teams May Not Be Able to Wear Green
In a historic first, the NFL will be playing a regular season game in Brazil, where soccer is a religion, as the Philadelphia Eagles face off against the Green Bay Packers. Both teams are known for their green team colors, but a new problem has arisen exactly because of those green team colors, with both teams probably being banned from donning green at all in the country.
The game will be held at Corinthians Arena in Sao Paulo, Brazil, which is the home court of the Brazilian soccer team Corinthians. The problem arose because the Corintihians' top rivals are the Palmeiras, which don green colors, with the team having an informal ban on wearing green inside the arena.
According to CBS News, this makes the upcoming NFL Brazil game more complicated as both teams don that color, and even the participating players are not allowed to wear any shade of green inside the arena. It was even noted that a former player was actually fined by the club for simply wearing green cleats.
Soccer is like a religion in Brazil and people there are known to get very fanatical with their local teams and it could get violent. While the ban is informal, there are signs all over Corinthians Arena that the color green is "forbidden."
It is still not known whether the arena could waive the rule for the NFL, but the Eagles do have a black alternative uniform, with the Packers having to wear white to avoid the ban. However, it should also be noted that the Eagles do still wear green helmets with those black jerseys, but they could also opt to wear black alternate helmets with them as they did back in 2022.
Ultimately, this could amount to nothing, with Corinthians Arena waiving the ban for the NFL as they play a totally different sport from the home team, but it might be interesting to see how Corinthians Arena management will react to seeing either team wear green for the historic NFL Brazil game.

Philadelphia Eagles Are the Designated Team for Brazil
As to why these two teams were chosen for the historic first NFL regular season game in Brazil, this is because the league has announced that the Philadelphia Eagles as the country's "designated team," and it just so happened that the also-green-colored Packers were the opponents they drew for the regular season game.
"This landmark first international game in South America demonstrates the ongoing expansion of our global footprint," stated NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell. Playing on Friday night of Week 1 is a unique way to highlight our international growth and ambitions."
There Are Plenty of American Football Fans in Soccer-Crazy Brazil
Despite it being no secret that Brazil is and will always be the most soccer-crazy country on Earth, there are still some American football fans in the country; one of them is Sao Paolo native Marcus Rovere, who is excited to watch his favorite team, the Green Bay Packers, play in his home city.
According to Spectrum 1 News, the Packers have a strong fan base in Brazil and Rovere has admitted that tickets will be very hard to come by, with Corinthians Stadium being about half the size of the Packers' home stadium back in Wisconsin.
