Milwaukee Bucks guard Patrick Beverley suspended a four-game without pay.

This follows an incident where he threw a basketball at fans and had an "inappropriate interaction" with ESPN producer Malinda Adams after the Bucks' loss to the Indiana Pacers in Game 6 of their playoff series.

The NBA made the announcement on Thursday.

During the game, Beverley was captured on camera throwing a basketball at fans sitting behind the Bucks' bench at Gainbridge Fieldhouse.

The ball struck a female fan in the head, leading to an altercation between Beverley and the spectators.

Beverley then requested the ball back, only to forcefully throw it back at the fans. The incident escalated after one of the fans allegedly made derogatory remarks towards Beverley.

Following the game, the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department stated their intention to commence an investigation into the incident.

After the game, Beverley had an exchange with ESPN producer Malinda Adams during a media scrum.

Patrick Beverley denied Adams the opportunity to ask him a question, citing her lack of subscription to his podcast.

He requested Adams to remove her microphone from his face and eventually asked her to leave the interview circle, CBS Sports noted.

Adams later shared on social media that Beverley called her to apologize for the interaction.

The Professional Basketball Writers Association also released a statement condemning Beverley's behavior towards Adams.

NBA's Response

The NBA swiftly responded to Beverley's actions, announcing a four-game suspension without pay.

Tim Frank, the NBA's senior vice president of league operations communications, described Beverley's behavior towards Adams as "unacceptable" and "unprofessional."

Beverley, who is set to become an unrestricted free agent this summer, could potentially lose approximately $90,000 in salary because of the suspension if he signs a minimum contract next season.
