Donald Trump, Fox News Ridiculed for Overreaction to FBI Standard Protocol, Claiming Joe Biden Wanted Him Assassinated
Donald Trump and his allies, as well as right-wing media like Fox News, overexaggerated an FBI standard protocol, and they have been mocked over it recently, especially as these Trump allies and right-wing media pundits are trying to rally their supporters on the lie that Biden was trying to assassinate his main political rival.
As it became evident that Donald Trump's claims that Joe Biden wanted him assassinated over the Mar-a-Lago classified documents raid was just usual FBI standard protocol during raids, late-night talk shows pounced to poke fun at the former president and the overreaction at right-wing media outlets like Fox News and Newsmax.
"The Daily Show's" guest host Michael Kosta was one of those who mocked the ex-POTUS as he recited Donald Trump's remarks and attempts to campaign off what should be typical wording for an FBI order.
"Holy sh-t! 'Locked and loaded?' 'Ready to take me out?'" Kosta stated, reciting Trump's own words, "I've never heard Joe Biden sound so f-king cool in my life."
"I always thought of him as a doddering old man, but Donald Trump makes him look like one of the 'Expendables," he joked. "The rest of you take what you want, but leave the orange man to me. Can you tape "Wheel of Fortune?" This might take a little while.'"
The false remarks about Biden trying to have him assassinated first came from a fundraising email Trump had sent to his supporters. It claimed that Biden's "DOJ authorized the FBI to use deadly (lethal) force," though as it turned out, it was standard operating procedure that the FBI puts in all search warrants as it is a routine disclosure of its use-of-force policy, according to The Wrap.
"Now, personally, think it'd be very difficult to assassinate Donald Trump, mostly because he would never get that close to a book depository," added the comedian. But regardless, I don't think Trump actually fears getting assassinated by Joe Biden, and the reason is because he announced it in a fundraising email. If you're dodging bullets, you don't stop to wave your Venmo QR code. 'Please, somebody send me money.'"

FBI Responds to Donald Trump's Claim That Joe Biden Wanted Him Assassinated
According to Axios, the overreaction and lack of understanding of how the FBI operated was seized upon by Georgia Republican Rep. Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, who falsely claimed that the DOJ and FBI were "planning to assassinate Pres. Trump and gave the green light." This was then spread by Fox News, Newsmax, and other right-wing blogs and media outlets.
In response, the FBI clarified that such wordings in their orders are normal, releasing a statement that read, "The FBI followed standard protocol in this search as we do for all search warrants, which includes a standard policy statement limiting the use of deadly force."
Despite this, right-wing news organizations did not retract their reports as they continued to be shared among their followers.
AG Merrick Garland Blasts Donald Trump's False Assassination Attempt Claims
Attorney General Merrick Garland also chimed in, slamming the former president for spreading lies that Biden authorized his potential assassination during the FBI raid at Mar--Lago in 2022.
"The document that has been referred to in the allegation is the Justice Department's standard policy, limiting the use of force as the FBI advises it as part of the standard operations plan for searches," the AG told reporters. "And in fact, it was even used in the consensual search of President Biden's home." adding that Trump's claims are "false and extremely dangerous."
