Popular Jamaican-American rapper and reggae singer Sean Kingston, best known for "Beautiful Girls," has been arrested in Southern California along with his mother over fraud charges. Kingston himself was slapped with 10 charges while his mother, Janice Turner, was given eight charges.

Kingston, whose real name is Kisean Paul Anderson, was charged with grand theft, fraud, organized scheme to defraud, and criminal use of personal identification information. Meanwhile, his mother was charged with basically the same charges as her son.

The two were actually arrested last Thursday during a raid of the Southwest Ranches mansion where they live, and the warrants for them were just released on Friday. The mother-and-son duo reportedly defrauded and stole from multiple businesses.

The warrants, which were obtained by NBC 6 South Florida, stated that the two "did unlawfully participate in a systematic, ongoing course of conduct with intent to defraud one or more persons." Kingston was also charged with violating his probation for trafficking stolen property in Florida.

A lawyer stated that he filed a lawsuit against Kingston, and the raid that led to his arrest is partly connected to a lawsuit he filed against the reggae singer. The lawyer stated that he defrauded a Florida company that installed a 232-inch television in his home. However, Kingston has never even paid for that TV.

"He likes having bling, he likes showing off, he's a showman," said attorney Dennis Card. "My client has a $150,000 television sound system that's in there, there's also about $1 million worth of watches that are in there, there's a $80,000 custom bed that was ordered. This is an organized systematic fraud."

What Did Sean Kingston and His Mother Steal?

From October of last year to March of this year, the two reportedly "stole almost $500,000 in jewelry, more than $200,000 from Bank of America, $160,000 from the Escalade dealer, more than $100,000 from First Republic Bank, $86,000 from the maker of customized beds and other smaller amounts." according to the Associated Press.

As for the company that installed his TV, but he did not pay, it was Ver Ver Entertainment and it alleges in its lawsuit that Kingston contacted the company in September about buying the TV set. They sold him one d under the brand name Colossal TV and installed it.

However, Kingston allegedly managed to have the company agree to lower his downpayment and give him credit by promising that Justin Bieber, whom he previously collaborated with, would do commercials for them. He paid the company $30,000 in November, but no commercial with Justin Bieber happened.

Sean Kingston and Mother Have a History of Defrauding People

Sean Kingston soon released a statement on Instagram after their arrest and release on bail, saying, "I am good and so is my mother. My lawyers are handling everything as we speak."

Kingston's mother previously pleaded guilty in 2006 to bank fraud for stealing over $160,000. She spent almost a year and a half in prison. Meanwhile, the singer himself, as well as his mother, were sued in r in a New York City federal court for $356,000 for failing to pay for customized watches.
