Republican figures allied to Donald Trump and are tied to his efforts to meddling in the election results have been given felony forgery charges in Wisconsin over the fake elector scheme, which was central to the former president's attempts to steal the 2020 election.

Wisconsin Attorney General Josh Kaul filed felony charges against a former Trump aide and two Trump attorneys, including the man behind the fake elector scheme, Kenneth Chesebro, who had previously flipped on Trump in the Georgia case.

The charges were filed in the Dane County Circuit Court and they were against Wisconsin native Chesebro, as well as former Dane County Judge Jim Troupis and former Trump aide Mike Roman.

Troupis represented Trump in Wisconsin during the 2020 election, while Roman allegedly delivered Wisconsin's slate of false elector paperwork to a Republican lawmaker's staffer to give to Mike Pence on January 6, 2020. The plan failed after Pence decided to go with the Constitution instead of maintaining power with Trump.

It is still unclear whether the 10 Wisconsin Republicans who signed the document declaring Trump as the winner in Wisconsin as AG Kaul declined to answer questions on the subject. One of these fake electors has admitted to working with the authorities and has since spoken out against Trump's efforts to fraudulently win the state, according to the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel.

"I'm not going to comment on specific individuals but what I can say is that this is an ongoing investigation and our decisions are going to be based on those facts and what the best interests of justice show," he told reporters.

Donald Trump Fake Elector Scheme Mastermind Cooperating With Wisconsin Authorities

In what may spell even more bad news to recently convicted felon Donald Trump, the man who was behind the entire fake elector scheme, Kenneth Chesebro, is cooperating with authorities across several states, including Wisconsin.

According to CNN, he is also working with state prosecutors in Michigan, Arizona, Nevada, and Georgia. He had believed he would not be charged if he cooperated with authorities, but things changed after it was discovered that he had lied about his use of social media to investigators as he often posted ideas regarding the scheme.

Details Regarding the Planning of the Wisconsin Fake Elector Scheme Surfaces

The charging documents have revealed brand new details about Donald Trump's efforts to overturn the 2020 election results in Wisconsin, including Troupis and Chesebro traveling via a chartered jet to Washington to meet with Trump inside the Oval Office on Dec. 16, 2020.

After the meeting, Troupis wrote to Chesebro, telling the Trump attorney that "nothing about our meeting with the President can be shared with anyone," with Chesebro replying after Christmas that it is possible to delay Congress' certification of the Electoral College results on Jan. 6, 2021.

This is the scheme to have then-Vice President Pence decline to open official elector forms to verify the results in some of the key swing states of Georgia, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin.
