WWE: CM Punk Gives Injury Update After Costing Drew McIntyre a Championship Win in Scotland
WWE Superstar CM Punk made a surprise appearance at the promotion's Clash At The Castle premium live event in Scotland and cost archnemesis and hometown hero Drew McIntyre the match for the World Heavyweight Championship, held by Puerto Rican champion Damian Priest.
After the referee was knocked out, CM Punk came in dressed as a replacement referee and tricked McIntyre. The big Scotsman tried to attack the Chicago native, who soon fought back with a kick to the crotch. This led Priest to hit a South of Heaven Chokeslam for the win, breaking the hearts of the hometown crowd.
During the post-event press conference, the man who spoiled Drew McIntyre's homecoming in Scotland noted that he may be returning soon after being injured by the Scot earlier this year during the Royal Rumble.
"I can tell you that my arm feels amazing," CM Punk, whose real name is Phil Brooks, told reporters. "I got permission to skip Raw in Corpus Christi to go home to Chicago to see my doctors with the idea that I'm going to be cleared."
"I'm going to skip Raw, I'm going to get cleared and then I'm going to show up the Smackdown and let everybody know the good news, hopefully," he added, referencing next week's WWE schedule. He is expected to announce that he is cleared to compete on Friday, June 21, in front of his hometown of Chicago, according to USA Today.
He then addressed McIntyre, with whom he is currently feuding, saying, "He's never going to ever be a champion here as long as I live. Not as long as we're on the same brand. Not as long as we're in the same company. As long as there's air in my lungs, I promise him he's never going to be a champion ever again."

WWE Stars To Wrestle for Japanese Promotions While Still Contracted to Company
Meanwhile, Triple H has opened the "forbidden door" once again and allowed two of his wrestlers to compete in Japan. The real-life Paul Levesque has previously partnered with TNA to have Knockouts Champion Jordynn Grace appear in NXT, and he is now allowing AJ Styles and Iyo Sky to compete in two different Japanese wrestling promotions.
"The Phenomenal One" AJ Styles will face Naomichi Marufuji during Pro Wrestling NOAH's Destination event on July 13. Meanwhile, former Women's Champion Iyo Sky will face Utami Hayashishita on July 13 at Marigold's Summer Destiny event.
More crossovers are to be expected for WWE as the promotion has been increasing its collaborations with other companies since Triple H took over.
