Florida Republican Congressman and accused pedophile Matt Gaetz, a key ally to former president Donald Trump, is in even more hot water as the House Ethics Committee has expanded its probe against him and will now include investigating the MAGA congressman's alleged illicit drug use.

The House Ethics Committee announced on Tuesday that it has identified "additional allegations" against the Florida Republican and that these additional allegations "merit review," with claims that in addition to his sexual misconduct, the staunch defender of former president and convicted felon Donald Trump was also using illegal drugs.

In addition, the House Ethics Committee announced that it is now eyeing claims that Gaetz "dispensed special privileges and favors to individuals with whom he had a personal relationship, and sought to obstruct government investigations of his conduct."

Gaetz is accused of sharing inappropriate images of the women he slept with, some of whom are presumed to be minors, to his Congressional colleagues. Because of this, the committee noted that it was suspending existing probes into four separate allegations of wrongdoing against Gaetz.

In its statement, the House Ethics Committee noted that it "will take no further action at this time on the allegations that he may have shared inappropriate images or videos on the House floor, misused state identification records, converted campaign funds to personal use, and/or accepted a bribe or improper gratuity."

Despite his closeness to former President Donald Trump, Gaetz has been blamed by fellow Republicans for the current chaos happening in the House of Representatives after he led the effort to kick former California Rep. Kevin McCarthy out of the speakership. McCarthy himself has stated that Gaetz had a vendetta against him for letting the House Ethics Committee investigation into his alleged pedophilia continue.

Accused Pedophile and Drug User, Matt Gaetz Reacts to New House Ethics Committee Probe

As for Matt Gaetz himself, the Florida Republican congressman reacted as many expected by denying everything and calling the new investigations into him "frivolous."

"This is Soviet," said the Florida congressman, calling the House Ethics Committee "opening new frivolous investigations" against him and claiming that this was retribution for spearheading the ouster of former Speaker Kevin McCarthy last year.

He has since maintained his innocence and that he did nothing wrong as the multiple ethics inquiries into his activities begin anew, according to Politico.

The House Ethics Committee released a statement on Tuesday, stating that the Republican-led committee is thoroughly investigating the MAGA lawmaker despite "the difficulty in obtaining relevant information from Representative Gaetz and others."

In addition, the committee noted that it has "spoken with more than a dozen witnesses, issued 25 subpoenas, and reviewed thousands of pages of documents in this matter. Based on its review to date, the committee has determined that certain of the allegations merit continued review."

Gaetz is accused of also trafficking minors across state lines to have sex with them and paying them through Venmo.
