Florida Republican congressman and accused pedophile and sex trafficker Matt Gaetz has admitted to cooking up a way to keep convicted former Donald Trump advisor Steve Bannon out of jail as Bannon's July 1 deadline to show up in prison for incarceration nears.

During his appearance on "The Tim Pool Daily Show," Gaetz, who is battling a House Ethics inquiry into his sex trafficking and drug use activities, claimed that Bannon could be kept out of jail legally.

"I believe the only way Steve Bannon does not go to jail is if there is a vote at an entity called 'BLAG," he told the right-wing podcast host. This is a reference to the "Bipartisan Legal Advisory Group," an entity that "speaks for, and articulates the institutional position of, the House in all litigation matters," according to MSN.

In his scheme, he stated that Republicans currently hold a slim 3-2 majority in the House leadership, which is made up of Speaker of the House Mike Johnson (R-LA), Majority Leader Steve Scalise (R-LA), Majority Whip Tom Emmer (R-MN), the Minority Leader Rep. Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY), and the Minority Whip Rep. Katherine Clark (D-MA).

Bannon is currently fighting to keep out of jail as he requested emergency relief from the United States Court of Appeals in Washington. The court is expected to move to file legal documents and have this group of 5 House leaders determine that the January 6 Committee "was illegitimate" and thereby free Steve Bannon.

"It was illegitimately formed, it was a runaway committee, it did not have a proper minority member and whether it's Peter Navarro or Steve Bannon - nobody, nobody should be sitting in a jail cell because they would not comply with the absurd musings of a committee unlike any be before in our nation's history," Gaetz claimed.

The alleged pedophile added that he believes the group of House leaders, which has a Republican majority, will succeed by making it the "official view of the House of Representatives that the January 6 Committee was illegitimate."

Matt Gaetz Supporting Challengers to Incumbent GOP Congressmen Critical of Him

Meanwhile, Matt Gaetz is not just cooking up schemes to keep a convicted criminal out of jail while battling a House Ethics Committee inquiry, but he is also actively endorsing Republican challengers to incumbent Republican representatives in the House.

However, as Yahoo! News pointed out, this move is so far falling flat as his endorsement of a hard-right challenger to incumbent Republican Rep. Mike Bost of Illinois has failed, as his endorsed candidate, Darren Bailey, just lost to Bost last Tuesday.

Gaetz has also endorsed other candidates to run against what he calls RINOs or "Republicans in Name Only, such as challengers to Rep. Tony Gonzalez (R-TX) and other known critics.

Gaetz has also been actively defending former president and convicted felon Donald Trump after the Florida lawmaker told Attorney General Merrick Garland at a House Judiciary Committee hearing, "I am saddened by it because, like you, I have given my life to the law, I care deeply about the law."

Given that Gaetz is accused of sex trafficking a minor across state lines, MSNBC's Chris Hayes blasted the accused pedophile as he suggested that the Republican was casting himself as a "savior," and pointed out the hypocrisy of this as the lawmaker is accused of having sex with an underage girl and paying her for it, as well as having a former close friend cooperating into the investigation.
