Danny Trejo Gets Into a Brawl During 4th of July Parade After 'Cowards' Threw Water Balloons at Him
Danny Trejo was the guest of honor for the 4th of July Parade in Sunland-Tujunga, California, but somebody threw water balloons at him and this enraged the 80-year-old actor, leading to a brawl that was caught on camera.
The "Machete" actor was just driving his vintage car as part of that 4th of July parade and then stopped for a photo-op. This was when somebody started pelting him with water balloons. Soon enough, Danny Trejo and some of his friends exited the car, tempers flaring, and tried to confront the water balloon thrower.
However, as TMZ pointed out, Trejo seems to have confronted the wrong people. This eventually led to a big brawl that saw the 80-year-old and his friend knocked down. A number of people also tried holding the actor and taco restauranteur down, and the brawl did not last very long.
As Trejo and his friend were being held back, he was yelling expletives at the culprits, calling them "cowards." However, several onlookers tried to point out to him that there were children present. It is unclear if he heard them in the heat of the moment, as he continued screaming at the balloon throwers.
Local police soon arrived at the scene, but everything had reportedly been resolved, with law enforcement telling TMZ that "a radio call came in about a big fight ... but the crowd had already dispersed, so no arrests were made."
In a statement to TMZ., Trejo stated that he is "physically fine after the encounter, he's feeling sad the situation happened in the first place ... as he had nothing but love for the parade," adding that the incident was "childish," and slammed the people who threw it at him as "cowards.
