Almost a year ago, many thought Melissa Barrera's career was over. Today, it is clear that it is just beginning to blossom. The Mexican artist was hired to be part of the cast of a series that, although it doesn't yet have a name, has created great expectations.

It is a project for Peacock led by Australian horror film king James Wan and actor Simu Liu. 

According to the official release about the project, the story revolves around a first-generation American intelligence analyst named Alexander Hale who will be played by Liu. The man realizes that his brain has been hacked and criminals have access to everything he sees and hears.

Although she had already starred in two of the films in the 'Scream' saga and was the star of 'In the Heights', the film based on Lin Manuel-Miranda's first play, Melissa was far from a household name.

It wasn't until she started posting on her social accounts rejections against Israel's actions in Gaza that she started making the rounds. Some criticized her, others applauded her bravery, but she ceased to go unnoticed."

Melissa will play a woman named Michelle, who is the kind of character  you don't know is good or bad until the end.
