Cosmopolitan Magazine: Accused of Airbrushing Iggy Azalea, YG Accuses Iggy of Stealing DJ Mustard Beat
It seems that these days Australian rapper Iggy Azalea just can't catch a break.
Since Nicki Minaj dissed Azalea for not writing her own lyrics to her songs at the 2014 BET awards, everyone seems to be lashing out at the "Fancy" rapper.
Iggy Azalea recently graced the cover of Cosmopolitan magazine while sporting her signature blonde hair, racy outfits and a questionable physique.
In addition to the song "Fancy," the 24-year-old rapper is also popular for her bodacious bod.
So when critics saw a more slimmed down version of Azalea on the cover, they accused Cosmopolitan of photo shopping Iggy Azalea's body.
MusicFIX was among many blogs, websites and critics throwing shade toward Cosmopolitan and Iggy Azalea.
Josie Rozenberg-Clarke, a writer from MusicFIX commented, "At first glance Iggy, 24, looks smokin' hot on Cosmopolitan's August issue...but on closer inspection you'll see her famously curvy hips seem to be noticeably smaller.
"Not only does the cover scream Photoshop tweaking, but Iggy's cutout cat suit smells of eau de Paris...Hilton, that is! The socialite-turned-DJ wore several eerily similar getups back in February while celebrating her birthday and performing in Brazil."
Ouch.
Despite the critcs' observations, Cosmopolitan is staying firm in its stance that Azalea was not photo shopped.
In a recent statement obtained by The Daily Mail, the people over at Cosmpolitan said, "Cosmo has not 'slimmed down' Iggy. It goes against our body love policy to remove inches from anyone's body -- whether it's a celebrity, a model or a reader appearing in the magazine. We think Iggy is fantastic and should be celebrated, which is why we've put her on the cover of Cosmo."
Though Cosmo has spoken up for Iggy Azalea regarding one controversy, another Iggy controversy has yet to be debated or defended.
This week, "Who Do You Love" rapper YG decided to join the slew of celebrities who have dissed Iggy Azalea.
MTV reported that during an interview with TimWestwoodTV, YG freestyle over Drake's "0 to 100" song and accused Iggy Azalea and her producers for stealing DJ Mustard's signature beat producing style.
"DJ Mustard, that n-a producers they jocking/ 'Fancy,' don't it sound like he produced that sh-?," he said. YG was referring to Iggy Azalea's chart-topping hit.
Iggy Azalea has yet to respond to the YG diss, but it's safe to say that she's probably lying low amidst all of this controversy.
