Probably the biggest news about the show's return for its fourth season is that "Once Upon a Time" has revealed the actress who will be playing fan-favorite "Frozen" character Queen Elsa of Arendelle.

The ABC television series, which features fairy tale characters in a drama, recently announced that the Snow Queen will be joining the cast, leading fans to speculate on who would be playing the role.

Finally, Entertainment Weekly reported Thursday that sources said Georgina Haig has been given. Haig is best known for her roles in Fox's "Fringe" and CBS' "Reckless."

TV Line reported that Princess Anna and Kristoff have already been cast to appear in a few episodes of the show. "Once Upon a Time" Season 4 is slowly taking shape as key roles for its take on "Frozen" materialize. Elizabeth Lail will be portraying Elsa's younger sister, while Scott Michael Foster will be appearing as the gruff mountain man.

Frozen's characters will be coming directly from the mega hit's storyline following the events that have transpired, such as Elsa's struggles with controlling her icy powers.

Co-creator Adam Horowitz and the rest of the team are well aware that fans love "Frozen," so they're being very careful with the characters' portrayal. He told TV Line that the creators want to create a unique story while staying true to "Frozen's" special charm.

Producer Eddy Kitsis added that the idea of how Elsa was clearly misunderstood in "Frozen" will be the heart of the show this season.

Season 3 ended with a teaser of a mystery character who left behind a path of ice as she walked. That character has been confirmed as Queen Elsa.

"Once Upon a Time" returns to its regular 8 p.m. Sunday time slot this fall. However, the premiere date has not been released.
