The PS4 and Xbox One offer up plenty of slick visuals. But with their present game lineups still fairly lean, there's still much fun being left on the table.

The second half of 2014 and early 2015, however, looks to be a great time for the relatively new consoles. Big, new intellectual properties like "Destiny" will debut for both systems and should get gamers online in droves, while sports titles like "FIFA 15" become even more realistic.

"Destiny" is the next big IP from legendary Bungie Studios, makers of such classic games as "Oni" and "Halo." It's an open-world first-person shooter with a heavy emphasis on co-op play. However, the massive multiplayer online game will enable plays to go rogue. The games takes place in a diverse human and alien filed post-apocalyptic world.

Soccer (or, ahem, Futbol) is a very emotional game. This much was obvious during Tuesday's World Cup semifinal match between Brazil and Germany in which the Europeans trounced the host nation 7-1. Now imagine exacting revenge (if you're Brazilian) or stoking the fire (if you're German) in the virtual world.

The Ecumenical News reports that "FIFA 15" will attempt to capture all that passion and agony, which is synonymous with "the beautiful game," on the PS4 and Xbox One (and practially every console but Wii U) via "Emotional Intelligence." The new feature will showcase 600 new facial animations. We can only hope that Brazilian defender David Luiz's bewildered expression is included.

PS4 and Xbox One are also getting multi-platformer "Oddworld: New 'n' Tasty!" on Tuesday, July 22. The game marks the return of the "Oddworld" franchise after a nine year hiatus. "Oddworld: New & Tasty" is a remake of the original "Oddworld: Abe's Odyssey," hence the name. It will also be available for Wii U, PS Vita, Windows PC, Mac OS X and Linux operating systems. Neither Sony nor Microsoft can lay claim to "Oddworld" being an exclusive (or semi-exclusive like "Titanfall" was) but it will look really good and be really hard.

"Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes" is a Sony and Microsoft co-exclusive. Reportedly, gamers who registered it since its March 18 launch received an interesting message. Registering "Ground Zeroes" means gamers will receive downloadable content for the next, much longer and 200x bigger MGS game according to IGN.

That game is "Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain," also known as the second halve of the fifth game. As with "Ground Zeroes," it won't be a PlayStation exclusive, unlike the previous big release: "MGS4: Guns of the Patriots." It will also be coming to Xbox One, among others platforms, with a still relatively far off release date of early 2015, according to publisher Konami.

One factor that will aid in "The Phantom Pain" wowing PS4 and Xbox One gamers is its graphic realism. It will play back at 1080p at 60FPS. Metro has hailed this visual experience as "the gold-standard" for proper next-generation gameplay.
