While the Brazilian hosts mourned for their national football team placing fourth in the recently concluded 2014 FIFA World Cup, they had to be joyful and upbeat enough to lift the spirits of both the locals and the fans.

Aside from Shakira, who performed "Dare (La, La, La)" in the stadium in Rio de Janeiro, the World Cup closing ceremony was generally a star-studded event, Us Magazine reports.

The Colombian singer and dancer started her performance by playing a Carnival drum in her revealing red dress that was made of sequined straps and a fringe skirt.

Shakira was accompanied by Carlinhos Brown, who wore an Indian headdress with his black suit and tie, along with Brazilian percussionists, and samba dancers.

Also spotted by photographers was Rihanna, who showed her support for both nations. The football fan and celebrity cheered for the eventual winner Germany while she also sported a body-painted Brazilian flag on her neck.

Earlier that day, she also her Twitter profile photo to one in which she wore a German flag bathing suit, according to Bleacher Report. The cover photo for her account also showed a sand-sculpted football with the word "GOAL," together with the flags of finalists Germany and Argentina.

She presented the 2014 FIFA World Cup trophy that came in a Louis Vuitton case together with former Barcelona captain and the Spanish team's brilliant defender Carles Puyol who helped his team win the championship back in 2010, according to Yahoo News. After presenting the coveted trophy, Gisele proceeded to the stand where she and her husband Tom Brady watched the action of the final match.
