Blake Lively & Ryan Reynolds: Actress Talks Married Life and her Burned Wedding Dress on Latest Issue of Vogue
Actress Blake Lively graced the cover of Vogue magazine for the third time for its August 2014 issue.
In addition to posing on the magazine's cover, Lively sat down with Vogue's Jonathan Van Meter for her cover story where she was candid about everything from married life with her husband and fellow actor, Ryan Reynolds, to her fiery wedding day, to her new lifestyle website, Preserve.
E! News reported the 26 year-old actress revealed that her custom made Marchesa wedding dress got slightly burned on the day of her wedding.
Lively explained that while sparklers were brought out during Florence Welch's performance at her wedding, one sparkler got too close to her dress and burned it.
Surprisingly, Lively was unaware that her dress was burned until her husband pointed it out.
"And later, my dress was hanging up and Ryan said, 'Isn't that beautiful?' I said, 'What?' And he pointed to the burn," Lively told Vogue. "My heart just stopped, because it was such a sensitive little subject. And he said, 'You'll always remember that moment with Florence singing and the sparklers. You have that forever, right there, preserved.' Now that's my favorite part of the dress."
Though Lively and Reynolds have yet to start a family, Lively gushed about her thoughts on Reynolds becoming a father one day.
She raved that Reynolds is going to be "a great father and leader and patriarch." The fact that he lived so much before we got together, he's the exact realized person that he should be. And so I get to share my life with the person he's become, and we get to grow from there." [LA Times.]
Lively also expressed her excitement about her new lifestyle website, Preserve, which she created with her husband "because everything we do in life we do together."
Lively explained that the website will not show fans "the perfect life." It will show them the "real life."
"It's real life," Lively said. "It's the thing that blindsides you on an idle Tuesday that's tragic but that also makes you who you are. It's not about me. And it's not about watching my journey of learning how-to, it's about me sharing that with you so we all sort of learn together."
