Since announcing her departure from the "The View" earlier this month, Sherri Shepherd admits that she's "excited" and feels "giddy" about what the future holds for her once she's officially off of the show.

"Excitement is going through my mind because the sky is the limit with possibilities. You can't grow without change, " Shepherd told Us Magazine. "You will stay the same and it will not be good. I'm all about running towards things that you fear. I'm so grateful that Barbara Walters gave me the opportunity for seven years and they've prepared me for whatever comes."

Shepherd also expressed her giddiness and "joyful" attitude towards getting Barbara Walters' blessing to move on from the show. Shepherd's final episode on "The View" is scheduled for Aug. 7 of this year.

"I'm very, very excited. My last day is Aug. 7 and I'm giddy," she said. "I've gotten Barbara Walters' blessing and I am so joyful. It is time to leave and time to fly and you can't grow without change so I am not supposed to be at The View next year. I am just happy."

Unlike her fellow co-host Jenny McCarthy who's already announced her new career move with Sirius XM, Shepherd remains coy on what her next move will be post "The View."

However, Shepherd did play with the idea of becoming a "chocolate version" of Ellen Degeneres.

"I love doing talk shows," Shepherd recently told Entertainment Tonight. "Maybe they need a chocolate version of Ellen. I don't know."

During her sit down with Entertainment Tonight, Shepherd also expressed her excitement about Rosie O' Donnell coming back on "The View" and offered up some ideas on what additional hosts should join the future "The View" hosting panel.

"I think Meghan McCain would be good," she said. "I think she's awesome. She stands up for what she believes."

Shepherd also named Ross Matthews and Rosie Perez as her candidates for potential co-hosts.
