50 Shades of Grey Movie Cast Rumors: Producers Listening to Fan Suggestions Ahead of Casting Announcement
A producer for the Fifty Shades of Grey movie adaptation recently sat down with a radio station and revealed some juicy secrets about the sexy film, including some notes about the release date and cast.
Producer Dana Brunett spoke with Lori and Michele on Northwest Prime radio and shared some secrets about the upcoming Fifty Shades of Grey movie.
Fans everywhere have been speculating about who will be cast as the film's lead male, Christian Grey. According to Brunett, fans might be disappointed about who is ultimately selected.
Brunett asked readers of the series to understand the struggles that come along with casting. Often, readers create an image of a character in their head after reading the book, but film adaptations are rarely able match that image perfectly.
According to Brunett, many people will not be pleased by the actor casted, no matter who he might be.
On the other hand, Brunett says that the moviemakers are taking the fan's rumors, wishes and hopes into consideration during the casting process. Other factors, of course, will also have to be considered as well.
The casting announcement is taking painstakingly long, according to fans. Brunett said that this is because the moviemakers want to make sure the chemistry between the lead male, Grey, and the lead female, Anastasia, is perfect. In order to ensure this, chemistry tests must be conducted before any actor is signed.
In terms of film adaptations to Fifty Shades of Grey's sequels, Fifty Shades Darker and Fifty Shades Freed, not much has been discussed. The moviemakers are interested, but right now, they are only focusing on the first film. If the first film does well, then they will get the greenlight to complete E.L. James' series.
Fifty Shades of Grey will be released Aug 1, 2014, as confirmed by Brunett.
