'Game of Thrones' Season 4 Casting: 'Nashville' Actor Michiel Huisman Cast In Unknown Role
Another day, another 'Game of Thrones' casting.
'Nashville' actor Michiel Huisman has reportedly been cast in an unknown role for the hit HBO drama's fourth season. Huisman played Liam McGuinn, music producer and love interest for Rayna (Connie Britton) on ABC's country music drama. The Dutch actor also had a role in HBO's 'Treme,' as a drug addicted musician.
The 32-year-old actor has also appeared in movies such as this summer's 'World War Z' and 2006's 'Black Book,' alongside 'Game of Thrones' actress Carice Van Houten (Melisandre).
According to Deadline, Huisman may be replacing another actor on 'Game of Thrones.' The fourth season will be more or less based on the second half of George R.R. Martin's 'A Storm of Swords,' the third novel in his epic A Song of Ice and Fire series. As there are countless characters in the universe of Martin's series, there are numerous options for who Huisman will be playing.
Huisman's casting in an unknown role is just the latest in a string of Season 4 casting news. Actor Joseph Gatt was recently cast in an unknown role, with many fans speculating he'll play Styr, Magnar of Thenn, a wildling who is prominent in a battle that occurs in the last half of book three. Gatt's muscular and hairless physique fits the description of Styr. 'Sherlock' actor Mark Gatiss was also cast in an unknown role.
Earlier this summer, Pedro Pascal, Indira Varma and Rober Ashton-Griffiths all scored high-profile roles in for the upcoming fourth season. Chilean actor Pascal's casting as Oberyn Martell was probably the most anticipated news, as he will play a prominent role in season four. Oberyn Martell, whose nickname is "The Red Viper," plays a man who wants to settle a score with the Lannisters. Varma will play his love interest Ellaria Sand. Griffiths will portray Mace Tyrell, the father of Loras and Margaery (Natalie Dormer).
'Game of Thrones' Season 4 premieres in Spring 2014.
