Labor Day weekend is here, and it's time to take a break from all the hustles and bustles of your busy life to celebrate your very own weekend, laborer.

So what's in store for you in the next few days? Well, if you're living in New York City, here's the lowdown on what you could be spending your long weekend on -- parades, fairs and food for you and the whole family.

West Indian American Day Carnival

The event will run for five days (Aug. 29 to Sept. 2) and will be capped by a huge parade on Labor Day. The parade will run along Eastern Parkway and will feature "thousands of masqueraders and dancing spectators," its website notes.

Fourth Avenue Festival

Happening between 9th and 14th streets, the fest will feature vendor booths of all kind for guests to visit and shop their way through.

World Trade Center Fair

Also happening this Saturday is the World Trade Center Fair on Liberty St., from Broadway all the way to Trinity Pl. Organized by Mardi Gras Festival Productions, which boasts about being 'The Largest Street Fair Producers in the Nation", the fair will feature booths and stalls of every kind -- from food to treats, toys, clothes and more.

Washington Square Outdoor Art Exhibit

Happening at Washington Square East, the exhibit will feature works from various artists under a range of categories, including Fine Arts, Graphics, Mixed Media, Sculpture, Photography, Metal Work and more.

The U.S. Open

For the sporty ones, the international tennis competition is your best bet. Happening at USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center, from Aug. 31 to Sept. 8, you'll be able to cheer on your tennis faves like Serena Williams, Novak Djokovic and Andy Murray.
