Laura Pausini Denies Showing Her Vagina in Peru After Video Goes Viral: Tells People to Focus on 'More Important' Things
Following the shocking event in Peru last week, the Italian singer has responded angrily after a video and accusations went viral throughout the Latin American and European press.
During a concert at the 38th Fair of the Home in Lima, Peru, Laura Pausini, 40, showed her genitalia during her last, according to El Mundo. The Italian singer was nude under a black robe and her intimate parts were shown on the large screens at the concert, subsequently making their way online.
After being made aware of the mishap Pausini said, "If you saw it, you saw it ... I have it like any other. Good Night!" However, now that the video and pictures have gone viral, the veteran singer has been forced to make an announcement.
In an impassioned Facebook post in both her native Italian and Spanish, Pausini said she was not really naked under the robe and that a wardrobe malfunction led to her wearing what she did. She also denied allegations that the incident was a "marketing scheme."
"Enough is enough! You have won... I can't keep myself from commenting on the news from Perú any longer," the Italian singer wrote. "First of all, I was not naked, like I've read everywhere, it was an accident that has really embarrassed me, because I have never been in this situation, even though I always end my concerts with a robe on top of my last outfit."
"But, I tell you again, I was not nude," she added, explaining that her last dress was ripped, but she did not go out wearing nothing underneath. She then lamented the attention she has received over such a trivial matter compared to other issues in the world.
"What impresses me is that such a small incident has been made into something bigger when there are other topics way more important that we can talk about," Pausini wrote. "I am left without comments for people that have define this moment of shame for me as a 'marketing strategy,' as if I needed it, as if I wasn't overly exposed already. It's ridiculous!"
She finished her comment by saying that her closing remarks at the concert concerning the incident were a joke made to alleviate the situation. However, she does not approve of the fact that now they are being printed on shirts and have become hashtags on social media.
