Chris Brown New Album Release Update 2014: 'Loyal' Singer Announces Official Release Date for 'X'
After dropping summer hits "Loyal" and "New Flame," Chris Brown finally announces the official release date for much delayed, highly anticipated upcoming sixth studio album "X."
Hollywood Life reported last week that Brown is "about to announce fall album release date" and consider it his "comeback album."
"He's been in the studio constantly, finishing up his album," a source said. "He's been arranging which tracks will go on there, plus some others that he wrote when he was [in jail] is making its way on the album.
"Chris is keeping the rest of the tracks that haven't been released yet on the DL, and just focusing on working on it and not rushing it," the source said. "He's not trying to say too much about it because he doesn't want to jinx himself if it's not a hot album. On the other hand, he wants to keep everyone in mystery about it so they can be really anxious to get it when he drops it."
On Sunday, Aug. 3, he took to his Instagram account to reveal fans exactly what to expect from him in the near future -- the R&B singer posted a cover art of his latest project with "SEPTEMBER 16TH" written across in bold caps.
In addition, it has been two months since Brown's jail release, and the 25-year-old broke his silence about making mistakes and becoming an adult in his Instagram post on Saturday.
"I been through a lot in my life. Made a lot of mistakes along the way," he wrote. "But through it all I've always been true to myself and through God I've been able to take care of my family! I should regret some things but I think the lessons learned will shape me into a real man. I'm grateful and appreciative! Thank you for life!"
