'Sons of Anarchy' Season 7 Premiere Date and Spoilers: New Promo Poster, First Six Episode Titles of Final Season Revealed [Pic]
FX's "Sons of Anarchy" recently revealed its latest promo poster for its highly anticipated final season.
The hit outlaw motorcycle club series took to its Twitter account to release a new artwork on Aug. 1, writing the following caption: "The Final Poster. The Final Season. The #FinalRide begins 9/9/14."
In the haunting black-and-white image, a shirtless Jackson "Jax" Teller, played by Charlie Hunnam, has his back to the camera and is seen tucking his handgun into the back of his jeans. Along with the dark, ominous clouds in the background, the SAMCRO president is sporting a new ink of a giant, realistic-looking skull on his bare back. That tattoo stands in place of the signature "SOA" Grim Reaper California tattoo he's had throughout the show.
The new poster certainly hints at the protagonist's vengeance-seeking motive in the forthcoming season, becoming a Reaper of sorts. Moreover, creator Kurt Sutter discussed Jax's changed role at this year's Comic-Con panel held recently in San Diego.
"This season will be the most proactive for Jax," he said. "He's driven, with a singular purpose. Rather than being a reactor to chaos, he will be the inciter. It's almost like a writing a brand new character."
Meanwhile, the network has released the titles of Season 7's first six episodes:
Episode 1 - "Black Widower" (Sept. 9) - The premiere episode will be one hour and forty-five minutes, beginning 10 days after Tara's murder. Jax, who is seeking vengeance after his wife's death, will be shown in jail for a parole violation.
Episode 2 - "Toil and Till" (Sept. 14)
Episode 3 - "Playing with Monsters" (Sept. 23)
Episode 4 - "Poor Little Lambs" (Sept. 30)
Episode 5 - "Some Strange Eruption" (Oct. 7)
Episode 6 - "Smoke 'em if You Got 'em" (Oct. 14)
The popular series is also set to feature guest appearances from Courtney Love, Marilyn Manson and the recently added Lea Michele of Glee fame.
The final season of "Sons of Anarchy" premieres on Tuesday, Sept. 9 at 10 p.m. ET on FX.
