MacBook Pro Retina vs. MacBook Air Comparison: Is the New MacBook Pro Retina 15" Model Coming Soon?
Leaked photos from an Apple store in Chongqing, China, show what appears to be a new MacBook Pro Retina 15-inch model.
Speculation says that this new model will be a high performance MacBook Pro Retina. It's reported to have 16 gigabytes (GB) of RAM and a 2.8 GHz Intel Core i7 processor. It's also reported to have a 1 terrabyte (TB) flash drive and be equipped with an NVIDIA GeForce GT 750M graphics card.
The new laptop seems perfect for those in the media, music or graphics industries. It will offer high-end specs and fast performance. It will also be able to render 3D graphics. With the massive amounts of RAM and fast processor, multitasking should be very efficient on this laptop.
What about the MacBook Air? Could it be finally getting the Retina screen? It appears so.
Reports are showing that a new 12-inch MacBook Air with Retina is in production. These new MacBook Air models will come out later this year or possibly sometime in 2015, analyst from KGI securities Ming-Chi-Kuo says.
The specs on the new MacBook Air with Retina have yet to be announced or reported. The latest MacBook Air models are lightweight and super-thin. It's highly likely that besides the improved screen, the MacBook Air with Retina will get some spec updates like a bigger flash drive, more RAM and a faster processor.
The MacBook Pro Retina updated 15-inch models will likely come out sometime in 2015. Other websites agree with Kuo's predictions for the new models of the MacBook Air with Retina and the MacBook Pro Retina. No official statement has been made by Apple however.
