Known for Words with Friends and Farmville, Zynga will soon introduce a golf game. It won't be just any golf game; it'll be one that include golf legend Tiger Woods.

Just before the close of the markets Thursday, Zynga announced that it will be adding sports games to its mobile games offerings.

Zynga will add mobile football and golf games as part of a new franchise called Zynga Sports 365.

During the announcement Thursday, Zynga announced that they had agreed to a multi-year, multi-platform deal with Woods.

According to a blog post by Zynga's COO Clive Downie, "Golf's massive global appeal and innate social nature lends itself well to mobile games and fosters the on-the-go competition we know you want," Downie wrote about the golf and the importance of Woods.

"By combining Tiger Woods' unparalleled golf insights with Zynga's ability to create meaningful connections between players, we can develop truly unique social golf games that bring authenticity and accessibility to sports enthusiasts. We are looking forward to making our Tiger Woods golf game available to all of our players globally this year and giving our players and Tiger's fans a new way to interact with their favorite golfer."

Woods' agent Mark Steinberg confirmed the partnership with Zynga and added that it was a good opportunity for Woods.

Steinberg said that Woods' likeness will be in the game and he will help develop the game as well.

"It's considerably different than what we did for all those years successfully with EA," Steinberg said. "EA was a fantastic partner for us for so many years, but it's different. It's a different time, and it's a different -- it's a different way to consume the game. But like anything, Tiger is going to be involved in it."

The Woods golf game will come out sometime in 2015, according to Zynga. It will be developed in their Orlando studio.

Zynga was founded in 2007 and creates online social games like Words with Friends and Farmville. Games are accessible on Facebook and Zynga as well as through smartphone apps.

A new announcement like this and some excitement in Zynga could help boost the company's stock price, which is nearing its 52-week low of $2.71 per share.
