Girl Band Danity Kane Members Disband: Break Up Occurred Over Fight Between Aubrey O'Day & Dawn Richard in Studio
The girl band Danity Kane has disbanded yet again after controversy rocked their studio recording session.
According to Digital Spy U.K., a physical altercation happened between two of the members, Aubrey O'Day and Dawn Richard. Another member, Shannon Bex, took to Tumblr to announce that the group is calling it quits -- and it looks like this is for good.
The five-member girl band was formed after an MTV reality show disbanded in 2009. A few years later, they re-emerged with four members, but Aundrea Fimbres had decided to quit the group in June 2013 to prioritize family life.
This year, O'Day, Richard and Bex tried to get back together and resurrect their career, supposedly for the benefit of their fans. However, tension started when O' Day claimed that Richard punched her in the back of the head while she was having a business session with Bex last Monday. There was no argument between the two prior to the attack, but it was serious enough for O'Day to file a report with the police.
According to TMZ, the three girls tried to cover the issue up by releasing a video where they all looked happy. However, they later went on social media to apologize to their fans and confirm the break up. O'Day and Bex let it slip that they have had problems with Richard way before this physical altercation happened.
The three women were supposedly working on a new album and a planned tour, but that's not going to happen now.
Additionally, Richard is posting her side of the story online. She claims that she got angry because she had found out the two other members were supposedly meeting behind her back. Apparently, she believes that the two were working on projects together and excluded her on purpose. The truth about that situation hasn't been revealed and may be considered water under the bridge since the issue has now become physical.
