Foo Fighters New Album 2014: Here's 'Sonic Highways' Release Date, Cover Art & Tracklist [Video]
After teasing on their Facebook account last week "some big news coming on Monday," the Foo Fighters finally announced their upcoming eighth studio album titled "Sonic Highways."
The "Best of You" hitmakers took to their official band website to share the forthcoming album's release date, cover art and tracklist, as well: "The new album, 'Sonic Highways,' will be released globally on Monday, Nov. 10. That's right. Everybody on the same day. Nov. 10. No matter where you live."
"This album is instantly recognizable as a Foo Fighters record, but there's something deeper and more musical to it," said frontman Dave Grohl. "I think that these cities and these people influenced us to stretch out and explore new territory, without losing our sound."
The rock band also posted a short YouTube video clip of Grohl getting a tattoo of an infinity symbol along with the phrase "In the end, we all come from what's come before" on his forearm, while presumably a new track is being played in the background.
Foo Fighters will also roll out their latest album on an upcoming HBO documentary series under the same title, set to premiere on Friday, Oct. 17, and plans to drop a new single on the same day.
Produced by Butch Vig in eight different American music capitals -- Chicago, Austin, Los Angeles, Nashville, Seattle, New Orleans, Washington, D.C. and New York -- "Sonic Highways" is now available to pre-order. Check out the tracklist of the 44-minute long, 8-track album below:
